They talk of £68M for Lukaku - utter madness!

Not really. The only madness was Chelski letting him go for a relative song earlydoors and now having to buy him back at a premium due to their failure to see what they had til he was gone. Boy's only 23 and is patently Drogba 2.0. Will look like an absolute STEAL a couple of seasons down the line.

The guy is an absolute DONKEY, not worth £30M. His Euro performances showed what little he has to offer against better class opposition, first touch of a JCB Digger!

Most Chelsea fans are dreading his return and the waste of £68M!

From a Norwich point of view we're delighted with the signing generally - there's a few fans kicking off because we need a striker, and don't think he'll play, but that's misguided as if this signing shows anything it's that Brady is probably on his way and Pritchard is his replacement on the left of a 4-2-3-1 formation.

On a more general note about the parachute payments etc you have to remember that for a club like Norwich, who don't have rich owners, it's one of the rewards for getting to the Prem. In fact, the only owners with less money than our's in this league is Burtons, I believe.

As a club we've been debt-free for a while and have always run the club well and within our means - our back to back promotions from League One to the Premiership was achieved with minimal outlay - even in the Prem the only time we spent big was in Hughton's second season, which he royally messed up, spending around £20 million on RvW, Fer and Hooper.

Norwich hijacking the Pritchard deal while he was delayed on the M25. Barber: “We don’t usually share transfer info, but we will make an exception with this one. We took four or five days to negotiate with Tottenham. We got the deal done, it took a lot of talking and hard work and a lot of backwards and forwards. “We took the step of getting the deal done with the player and his agent. All three elements were in place and the player was travelling to us. But there were delays on the M25, and it was during that delay another club jumped on the deal. “These things happen in football, and we are not naive enough to think that doesn’t happen. “We move on. Chris Hughton, Tony Bloom, Paul Winstanley and I weren’t happy, but the most important thing now is getting players who want to play for us.”

Bloody agents and their leech like features, can you imagine what bullsh#t that was fed to AP to turn his head towards Naaaarich :tantrum:

I'm not saying it will happen overnight, but it stands to reason that most clubs that are in the PL will stay there due largely to their slice of the new £5.1bn TV deal. Apparently the next deal is going to be worth upwards of £15bn

I know it's not quite as simple as this, and advertising raises some revenue, but trebling the amount that Sky pay the PL must mean a huge increase in the amount subscribers pay Sky?

I don't know anyone who has taken out Sky recently, but I know several who have cancelled. There will come a point when these ridiculous increases cannot be maintained and subscriptions will have to be affordable or the whole thing will collapse.
