Its pretty rare that our targets come out in amongst all the usual transfer speculation isn't it ?

Usually its BAM, we've signed so-and-so, shirt held up, cheesy grin etc. Wouldn't be unhappy with this though (as long as it doesn't mean we've lost Knocky).

Don't think this necessarily means the end of Stephens. Pritchard an attacking midfielder, I genuinely reckon he could fall in to the Baldrock role and play just off Hemed or Murray. 12 goals for Brentford in this league shows he knows where the goal is. If Hemed and Murray canget 35 between them, Pritchard chips in with 15 and then a few of Knockeart, Skalak, Murphy, Stephens, Baldock Goldson & Dunk can chip in with 5-10 and we're looking at 80+ goals next season. He'd also offer us a lot more varity when we're chasing games. If we're playing 4-3-3 away from home but need a goal then Pritchard for Sidwell would let us keep a 3 man midfield as to not be overrun in the middle, whilst still making the team much more of a threat going forward.

I also think in the current market £8,000,000 is about right for him. If he has a couple of good seasons, at this level he'll be worth more. If he helps gets us up and holds his own then we could be looking at a player worth 20m, easily.

Stockdale
Bruno - Dunk - Goldson - Rosenior
Knockeart - Kayal - Stephens - Skalak
Pritchard
Hemed

If that team doesn't excite you then check for a pulse, because you might just be dead.

Yeah, but there haven't been a lot of takers to this point, but I know what you mean :D

I wonder if his injury will put people off, I wanted him to be given a chance at WHL this year.

from previous evidence he is too good for the championship, which is great if you can sign him!

Kind of disappointed it's in the media, would have liked to have announced this one with everyone completely unaware.

Hope it's not just an option to replace anybody as he can play anywhere along the midfield line. Can he play behind a striker?

has he ever played that role for Brentford though ? Be a bit daft paying 8m for someone that isn't proven in a certain exact position.

Personally , I think Stephens will be off and Pritchard would be his direct replacement as a central AM. Unless he was a winger at Brentford which cant recall ! In which case Knocky going

People saying it must mean Stephens is of must have short memories. The same was said last season when we had the speculation surrounding Dunk and we signed Uwe.

Sky sports news and rumours on twitter Brighton are close to signing Alex Pritchard from Tottenham for a fee reported at £8million pounds what does every one think of this.

That is where he played for Brentford I believe. He is no direct replacement for Stephens at all. Would see Sidwell more suited to being a direct replacement

Would be a great signing! I wonder if it could mean us playing 4-2-3-1 with AK/or another in behind the striker? If we've struggled to find the right striker at the right price this could be the way to solve the issue.

I do hope this doesn't mean we're going to lose AK and he is the replacement. Although the club would have done extremely well to get Pritchard in instead, there is something about Knocky that is irreplaceable.

is this another one of those occasions where NSC goes into meltdown and nothing actually happens for a few weeks or never at all?
