Some Newcastle twitter feed says we’ve bid £15m
Yeah, saw that. Claimed the guardian as the source but there was no link to the story and I can't see anything online. I assume therefore it's a load of shit!

Yes it makes perfect sense...nearly double our offer because that’s what Newcastle value the player at!!! Errr don’t think so...

Should we really be waiting for Newcastle to sow things up for Nicolai Jorgensen or Slimani before we get our man? Didn’t work with Andone and might not work now.

Torres insisted on moving to Chelsea. No one could stop it. Players hold ALL the aces in modern football.

The same with VVD, Sanchez, Countinho, Neymar, Bale, Ronaldo leaving ManU, etc etc. The best clubs can hope for is a delay of 1 or 2 windows, but sometimes clubs end up with a disruptive influence.

I believe we will see NFL style trading moving into the market. Sanchez and Mikhataryan is the first indication that this is the way forward, places more control in the hands of clubs, marginalises (not completely) agents and keeps finances within a club. It is a more savvy way of doing business and large amounts of cash are not lost in the process.

NO truth in talk of £15m bid from Brighton for Mitrovic. They've gone £7m so far - and been told there's no dice whatsoever at that price. #nufc

This bloke has 39k followers, so suspect he is more accurate

Are you suggesting that a swap deal wouldn't have incurred any agents fees? I think that is wishful thinking. There will have been agents on boths sides "making it happen" and be charging football a ludicrous amount of money for doing it.

That sounds more like the reports we've seen elsewhere so is quite likely to be accurate. Arsegas are saying we might go back with a higher bid.
