actually no, because I think Dan Walker is a much better presenter. Just like I think Clare Balding a better presenter she even managed to make Crufts dog show watchable!

The job of presenting a TV program is not an easy one, some people make it look effortless and make watching almost anything enjoyable experience, David Attenborough, Gary Lineker, Clair Baldwin, Naga Munchetty, Andi Peters, Moira Stewart, Graham Norton plus numerous others. There are some that actually aren't very good at it (imo) Rylan Clark-Neal, Alec Scott are two that spring to mind

My "issue" with Ms Scott is not as you seem to be alluding to her ethnicity or gender but her ability to do the job. Plenty on here comment on other pundits and presenters abilities frequently , Graham Souness as a pundit just sends me to sleep, an example of an awful TV personality . I and others can criticise his performance on TV but we cant do the same with Alec Scott?

I don't care what race, gender, sexuality, or any other characteristic a presenter has other than whether or not they can do the job and make watching a program enjoyable.

I'm not saying that you have an issue with her ethnicity or gender but based on your post, you made it out like she got the role because she's 'diverse'.

I think that the last time I watched Football Focus Bob Wilson was the presenter, so not fussed who presents the show.

With the BBC seemingly only having two presenters, I wonder how long it will be before Alex Scott and Rylan Clark-Neal are snapped up to present BBC Breakfast and The One Show to complete their take over of the BBC.

Guess who is co-presenting The One Show tonight.
Go on, have a peek.

Souness - I love his Sky work, a brilliant player, like Gary Neville and Roy Keane he has the touch of the quiet assassin in assessing football incompetence. Specialists at the highest level, winners, who simply know what they’re talking about.

Totally with you on Souness. The man just has a fantastic football mind and always has good insight into where teams and players are lacking on pitch or in games.

He’s a big crabbity at times, and not a fan of modern footballers, but he absolutely knows what it’s about at elite level football both as a player and a manager.

I have no issue with Alec Scott other than I don’t find her punditry particularly interesting or insightful, likewise with some other male pundits like Darren Bent. Both only have cursory knowledge of teams outside the top 6 and pretty much state the obvious.

She gets on my nerves. Prefer Karen Carney who seems to be more about the football itself rather than a media luvvie.

I’ve heard KC commentate on a couple of games now. I have been very impressed she knows her onions and is very insightful. The next match I watched after that was Andy ‘bell cheese’ Townsend. I thought I’d escaped that clown commentating when I left the country.

As for Alec Scott, I haven’t seen her as a pundit or heard her as a commentator so I can’t comment.

I wish we weren’t ruled by so called positive discrimination. I want former players as pundits who have played the men’s game at the highest level, just as I would if I watched women’s PL football. Yes there are parallels but it’s not quite same. In same way they don’t employ league 1 or 2 only players. Anyway, tin helmet on and ready for the wave of wokeness...

I must have missed Dan Walker's career as an elite footballer.

Totally agree with you. It's just box ticking having women pundits on men's football, why don't Sky ever have lower league players on Super Sunday or MNF? Because everyone would say 'wtf does he know about PL football he has no credibility'.

Let Alex Scott and her mates be pundits on women's football and have have current or ex male players as pundits on men's football.

Here come the wokes.......

Whatever your view, continually calling her Alec, rather than Alex is pretty disrespectful and petty.

Must suck when Wenger and Mourinho are on TV doing punditry work.

Funny, because I’m sure they managed elite clubs. Maybe not (depending on your loyalties)

Apologies,I think that may be my fault.
I noticed I have called her Alec instead of Alex for some reason in my earlier post.
I think maybe a few posters after me have maybe copied my mistake,or maybe it's spell chec.
Sorry everyone and especially to Alex too.

What do you think of Martin Tyler? He does lots of research and is well prepared.

How many other commentators would know Dan Burn’s height, Steve Mc Mahon’s goal scoring record and a 1970s TV detective series that might have starred Jason Steele, and smoothly shoe horn this into an Albion commentary!!

Yes,was he the guy commentating on Monday with KC on the radio?
I must admit I did like his commentary and he did through in a few obscure details but in quite a fun way.
I was particularly impressed when he said "they are now attacking the goal in a westerly direction so towards Worthing".
I thought that was excellent bit of local knowledge applied by the commentator.
He's better than me because I completely lose my bearings whenever I'm in the stadium.
