I used to watch soccer saturday but gave up on it when they axed Le Tiss, Thommo and Charlie, I'll whisper this as I know it's a shameful confession to make on NSC.........I really enjoyed the laddish banter they had going between them. I'm so sorry to confess to such a heinous crime. I know laddish banter is so 1980's and I need to seek help.

I would guess that because Honigstein is everywhere; BT, Talk Sport, The Athletic etc. so you've done well to never hear of him.

I think people still like laddish banter but also like quality punditry. Look at Carragher and Neville. They have superb analysis but also that banter.

If only having male pundits constitutes 'segregation by sex' then bring it on. Is it really that much of a problem me wanting men as pundits on men's football as they've played the game to that level. Let Alex Scott et all be pundits on the WSL, it can't be a bad gig to have given 'the rise in popularity of women's football'.

I think that the last time I watched Football Focus Bob Wilson was the presenter, so not fussed who presents the show.

With the BBC seemingly only having two presenters, I wonder how long it will be before Alex Scott and Rylan Clark-Neal are snapped up to present BBC Breakfast and The One Show to complete their take over of the BBC.

Never played at the business end of a WC or Euros? My definition of business end would be QF onwards (I acknowledge that's only my defintion) so that would allow a plethora of current and ex male players to be pundits. You could have for example Dele Ali on the panel as a player who has played in a WC semi final.

He got beat though. He wouldn’t be able to pass any meaningful judgement on a semi and certainly not a final e.g. he wouldn’t have any authority to say something like “player B needs to do blah blah” would he?

Talksport? Don't mention TS on NSC it's akin to mentioning the Daily Mail, you'll be banned if you are not careful. No I honestly don't think I've ever heard of him, I listen to TS from 10am-1pm as Jordan is pure box office.

No issue at all with female pundits. Some are are good some are not. Like male pundits....Just because someone has played football at a high level doesn't mean they will be any good in the media, male or female. Its a bit like saying all top footballers will become great managers. Many top managers weren't top players (Ferguson, Wenger, Klopp etc).

My issue with Alex Scott is that she is rubbish and her ever increasing profile is due to cultural diversity rather than the fact as to whether she is any good at her job. Surely whatever the views of modern society, that can't be right. You appoint the best person for any job rather than use it as a box ticking exercise.

No issue with female pundits. But Alex Scott is uniformly bland, not that insightful and generally states the obvious. Yes I know there are likewise similar male pundits and I have issues with that as well.

Advocating it when it comes to women's pundits yes.
