I had a drink on Monday, to celebrate DryJan, I'm using the drink days app that I've used the last two years and every year, so far, I've had significantly more drink free days than the year before, just wish I'd waited until last night for my drink night, but hey ho, swap that for three points!

How are people going?

Still dry here on day 53, although I have utilised the crutch of Heineken 0.0 a few times, primarily when football is on. Which reminds me I need to go and get some for tonight.

Still dry although I did struggle Friday as I had run out of 0% alternatives and have loads of options in the house.

Got my preferred 0% lagers from Lidl in the fridge ready for tonight and aim to keep going for 60 days. so only another week.

Crashed and burned. Totally. Attempting to blame lockdown. But it’s obviously me. Hopeless.

Dry since the Liverpool game so just two glasses of wine in 5 weeks. Had a few Nanny States and got some for tonight.

My 50th day today. Will celebrate with a licorice tea during the match. Aiming for the ton again. Finding not drinking much easier than last year and will work hard to not drink all June, July and August like 2020.

I have a number of unopened bottles of sprits through either buying or been given that I want to get rid of. While I enjoy the odd drop, I only go through 1 – 2 bottles in a year (wish I could say the same for beer & wine which is my problem and needs to be addressed). Unfortunately despite asking not to, family continue to give me bottles for birthday & Christmas etc as often an easy option for them. So I need to get rid of some unopened bottles. I can either tip them down the sink (which I would do, but does seem a waste), give them away (but I am then encouraging others to drink), or give them to some organisation who can include as a prize in a raffle to raise some money for them, but not sure who to give them to. Any thoughts

I’m doing dry February, I like to be different to people that do dry January. I only used to drink on Saturday and occasionally Friday evening, so not too difficult giving up.
I may continue into March, as I’m doing some decorating at home and find I get more done at the weekend if I don’t have a hangover.

I was in a similar situation as you. Not a heavy drinker but always a few on the weekends. I got a bad cold on Xmas 2019 so didn't want to drink. I felt crap at new years too then and just never started drinking again. I don't miss it at all and I'm pleased I'd stopped preCovid as can imagine I'd have drunk a lot more on lockdown if I hadn't already decided to jack it in.

I did 6 weeks, really suffered badly with my PMR and had to up my meds . . . . Have had some red wine in sensible doses the last week or so, feeling miles better . . . . Plan is to keep it under 'guidlines' per week.

Just noticed it is 18 months today since my last alcoholic beverage. Not missing it at all, even through lockdown and some long and busy work days.

I find a nice walk quite relaxing after work followed by a cuppa to warm me up when I get back in.

Still on the dry wagon here - 88 days now.

I'll keep it going until the pubs are open again, which will put me beyond 100 days, which feels like a good number to hit.

I feel like I've firmly broken the habit, although that did happen two years ago and I slowly got back on it again. The key for me will be to sticking to "event drinking", ie there's a social occasion or similar, rather than habitually drinking most evenings. We'll see...

No Albion game and no close Grand Prix is good for my refraining from alcohol.

Got Harty Juniors nuptials in September, and this has been nagging at the back of my mind, so much so that I'm getting the caterers to sort me out a fridge of Heineken 00 for the whole day so there's no grey area.

I managed nearly 300 days without a drink and have only had 5 sporadic bottles of Corona/1664 in the corresponding 80 odd days since, the key for me is controlling the drink and not the drink controlling me, I've said before I admire the work of the AA and all they do, but for some myself included its merely about striking the self discipline balance.
