Alcohol

My booze consumption is about 4 pints of bitter a month, being a non smoker keeps me out of the pubs as I ferking detest smoking, however when the ban comes in to force:clap: I will no doubt down a few more.

havn't had a drink since mid July not a problem, before that went about a year. Don't see why it is so difficult far too much of a drinking culture in this county

What a daft post. There are alcoholics in every country, its down to the indiviuals own reaction to alcohol and the nature of their personality, whether it is addictive or not, not whether there is a drinking culture or not.

Drinking is fun, its when you cant control it that its not.

I honestly find that most people I meet that dont drink (Ex Alcoholics not counted) are boring as sin.

I get the impression that most of the teetotallers I've met (again, ex-alcoholics apart) have something to hide - they act like there's some dark secret from their past that they're afraid might come out if they fall even slightly under the influence.

There's no secret with me, I stopped because I was drinking far too much.

How much was far too much?

Believe me most people would have died ! I can tell you this, one time, at a very strange New Year's Eve party in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma, I was challenged by some 'Good Old Boys' to a drinking competition.

I left all of them utterly legless whilst I was perfectly okay. The next day they all said how impressed they were with my prowess to which I pointed out only somebody with a drink problem could do that sort of drinking with so little effect and in fact it was anything but clever.

I stopped drinking for 4 weeks in the summer. First time out I got so shit balled I ran away from munkfish while he was trying to put me in a taxi and jumped on the first train home to Wivelsfield. Except I feel asleep and ended up in Balcombe. So tried to get the train back and feel asleep again and ended up in Brighton. This was followed by falling asleep again and ending up in Gatwick. Finally got home 3 hours later.

The moral of this stroy is stopping drinking is bad.
