Yes, I was hugely impressed by the rhythm section on the night… but Geoffrey Richardson stole the show somewhat … with Pye providing that touch of mystical Canterbury scene … wizardry.
For me, along with Family, Camel and Audience… Caravan represent something utterly and quintessentially English… like a nice cup of tea on a hazy summers day of yore.
Just listening to my original press of D’abo’s Down at Rachel’s Place btw… a lost gem… and another very British slice of whimsy … with enough genuine soul to ensure it endures beyond any notion of a poppy throwaway… it’s a beautiful record, the perfect tonic on for a Sunday afternoon in your early 40s … lol
