Few things out today I'm looking forward to listening to. Seems to be a week for mellow guitars and female vocals…

Charlotte Day Wilson, Cyan Blue

Camera Obscura, Look to the East look to the West

I really like it; first track is quite bouncy and melodic, in the same ball park as his debut Drone Logic. Second is techno, sounds like it is written for the dance floor, a big room at 4am. I thought he was going a bit too far with his drone-y stuff; this brings him right back on track for me.
Excellent. Drone Logic is his work that appeals most to me.

It's Beth Gibbons day!

Hoorah.

Album of the year contender.

Just had first full listen. Wonderful stuff. Closes with a delicious, bucolic bit of Wicker Man folk, bird song, chickens and ducks.

lovely

Think I might have to get this along with the new ones from Kamasi and Shellac

Had a look at that yesterday. I listen to very little new stuff these days, but Shabaka and Beth Gibbons are both quite brilliant albums that I keep on playing. The Smile is good, but not that good. Which of the others are you rating?

That Kemasi Washington album is very good indeed. Fabiana Palladino effort has some superb moments on it.
