The new Caribou album is superb. Only listened to it twice but some great stuff on there.

Also bought the new Tame Impala album to listen to next.

Caribou and Tycho on my current “to listen to” list.

Not new, but recent, is Max Cooper’s excellent Yearning For The Infinite album. I saw him perform this a few months back with quite an incredible multi-dimensional Audio Visual set up. Been listening to the album a lot recently

It certainly won’t be for everyone but f*ck me, the debut M Huncho album; Huncholini The 1st, is pretty good.

J Hus has also cemented himself as one of the best all round artists in U.K. Hip-Hop too with Big Conspiracy.

Two albums that really show the depth and variety in British hip-hop right now.

Yeah that J Hus album is really good. Not sold on M Huncho personally but can see why one might be.

Sniffany and The Nits are amazing. Lots of good stuff released on Gob Nation - did you ever hear The Snivellers demo?

A couple of Jo Gru's, a then current now ex-Porridge Radio and a Garden Centre.

The new Porridge Radio album finally emerges tomorrow. I've heard it and it's as good as the reviews are saying. Maybe better.

Alexis P's album of the week in The Guardian, the article begins with this paragraph:

Porridge Radio frontwoman Dana Margolin recently gave an interview to the NME that took its headline from one of her quotes: “I’ve always known that we’re the best band in the world.” Margolin went on to suggest the current burst of interest in her band was woefully belated (“Obviously we’re really good and we know it … where have you been?”) and that their destiny lay in performing to arenas and sports stadiums around the world: “I wanna be Coldplay, obviously.”

It's extremely good, and I'll be surprised if it doesn't find its way into a top five/ten AotY list. She's extraordinary in the way that she combines ambiguity, force, gentleness, edginess, etc

I'm also enjoying Myopia by Agnes Obel in what so far at least has been an extremely sparse year for acquainting myself with new music.
