Aston Villa announced this yesterday which may help gauge the sums involved, they are pretty much double the capacity although different ticket prices i guess and don't how many matches they had in various cups at home:
Match Day Revenue £24m
Commercial Revenue £14.4m
TV Revenue £52m

ps they made a loss of £37.6m and their wage bill is £80m whick worked out at 88% of turnover.

How can any club survive that kind expenditure, I run a small cafe and struggle to keep wages below 40% of turnover and just about manage to make a profit, if my accountant saw wages at that level he'd call the administrator.

I reckon we could match that with conferences and concerts. We're only allowed one 20,000 capacity concert, but we can have more 10,000 concerts which is still considerably more than any other venue in the area.

Interesting. I thought we were only allowed one concert full-stop. Excellent news.

Round figures it looks like gate revenue could be between £9m (at £400/seat) to perhaps £11m (at £500/seat). That's compared to Withdean where the gate revenue could have been around £2m/pa and we've been told that half of that immediately goes in rent before any other costs. That will be one hell of a change in terms of income and possibly expenditure.

On top of that I believe that the TV share is around £4m compared to £400k in League One.

Might see everything change next year.

One does have to wonder how much longer this sort of behaviour can go on for. Surely million/billionaires are going to get fed up with writing cheques and pissing money up the wall,. Certainly for those clubs that are no longer able to compete on the playing field. The best some teams in the Premier League can hope for is a swift jaunt in a second rate Euopean competition and maybe a League Cup win. The others will focus on staying in the league as long as possible.

Will TV revenue subside eventually? I am bored of watching football on TV.
