During my time watching, it's a toss up between Paul Clark and Jimmy Case, with me leaning to the former. Hans Kraay was just mental.

Not necessarily a hardnut, but I still marvel each fortnight or so at Sidders flooring Yann Kuntagent with an elbow to the back of his evil head. Sly and fierce, but justifiably vengeful.
I saw that in real time.

I was waiting for it.

A thing of delicious beauty,

Thinks it's time for another trip down memory lane.

I don't think we've done this one before, maybe in wrong but let's have a look at the Albion's HARDEST ever player

We're not really looking at dirtiest or strongest here but proper HARD NUTS

Over to you for nominations, I'll follow what is now the done thing by saying that to qualify a player must get a nomination and a seconding. I'm not going to rule with an iron fist but I'd prefer it if all the nominations and seconding don't come from the same few people PLEASE
Horton, Case, Kray but there was only 1 ‘tank’ Paul Clark👍

“I won't say he was dirty but certainly the hardest opponent was Jimmy Case," said former Manchester United skipper Bryan Robson, also not averse to putting the boot in. "He could certainly look after himself.”

That’s a good testimony from someone who would know. Admittedly, this is in context of his time at Liverpool, but I don’t remember Jimmy ever jumping out of a tackle while playing for the Albion.

And he got booked once, for being deaf

Another for Paul Clark.
I have a memory of him going 50/50 into a tackle with Joe Jordan. It was like a head on collision of two locomotives.

Can't be arsed to look through the entire thread, but hopefully Igor has already been nominated.

The guy is an absolute unit.

Anyone suggesting Hans Kraay cannot have seen Paul Clark play

I still shudder remembering the sound of Paul Fucillo’s leg snapping after a tackle by Clark. I think the whole ground could hear it
