I couldn't vote for El-Abd as I remember him falling over when barely touched by an opponent in a pathetic attempt to get a free kick - a true hard man would never show weakness like that.

These are a difficult choice. A different type of "hard".

Tank was "all-in" and if he broke your leg Adam was more of a "shithouser"; the pinches / pulling hair etc

I very much enoyed watching them both over the years.

For me Clark should win this overall. But I never thought he was a "nasty" player, like say Vinnie Jones.

Another player Clark would chew up both in terms of ‘hardness’ but also playing ability. I did like AEA though, but not in the same class.

I seem to recall him mostly in central midfield but also seem to remember his great goal against Spurs coming from centre half
