Well, I would have Yates as MOTM but Chippy had a good game too. Okay, not a classic but we played competantly and I reckon we were knocking it around on the floor far more than we have in a while, was that down to Mcgee or the simple fact that Wrexham were nothing ?

Have just read Dennis Smith's comments and like so many others, wonder if he was at a different game or on drugs. Frankly Mr Smith, your team are crap, get over it.

I figured that the gate would be poor and I wouldn't put that down to the weather as much as a string of poor results and all the other factors already discussed last week. Not a classic but as long as we continue to knock over nothing sides like Wrexham then at least a play off birth is very realistic.

Yeates could be mom if he could use his brain as well as his feet. His booking was daft - he was looking along the line and should not have got himself offside and then should not have kicked the ball away. He also wasted time just before half time when we had a corner and were looking good for a goal. These are a few examples - there were more. His football was really good at times and he has a great future when he learns to think about the game a bit more.

Yeates definately MOM. El Abd very competent and definately has the edge over Hinsh and Watto. Hart seems to have lost his desire.

Crowd most disappointing - weather etc doesn't help but I would give us 0/10

Just seen the goals on Soccer Sunday. Gyppys was a peach.
FBS was more interested in the game than talking to Steggle.
Marvellous scenes.

He looked terrible at one point for a cross in the second half. Flapping away at thin air and they nearly got a goal.

Agree with just about everything said before. Nothing great, but three points.

Special mention for Piercy, Yeats, Carpenter, El-Abd, Knight and, until he seemed to tire towards the end, Mc Phee who held the ball up very well on a number of occasions.

And of course special mention to the manager who has got almost the same group of players who embarrassed everyone against Bristol City playing like a team again.

some plus points certainly after seeing some dreadful performances recently

its good that MM has mixed it up a bit by bringing in players with something to prove (el ab, piercy, yeats) although it is obvious that the left side needs strengthening and competition is needed up front

3 good points though

didnt think it was possible for the atmosphere at withdean to get any worse but was proved wrong!

Two good goals, Paula Yeates covered miles of ground and created plenty, always looking for Leon's feet rather than his head. Piercy looked solid until getting injured.

Jones inconspicuous, Mayo passed far to easily by every Wrexham player who ran at him. Chippy played well and scored a lovely goal, Cullip ok but still below the standards we've come to expect of him. No idea how he got MoM award.

Leon looked tricky and fast, and I was impressed with El Abd, one great defensive header in the first half, and more importantly whenever he got the ball, he looked up and tried to do something useful with it, rather than hoofing it miles. Or desperately switching it on to his left foot and then hoofing it, like other recent incumbents of the RB role...

The MOM award is voted for by the Match Sponsors. If they've got a favourite or 'pet' player, it doesn't matter a jot who's the best man out there, the bloke they want their photo taken with will get the award...

I thought Naylor summed it up quite well, describing our performance as 'professional'. We went out there with a game plan and stuck to it. It wasn't pretty, but we looked far the better side (an early goal didn't harm things), and we should have had 2 others. The ref was very badly placed for the push in the back that should have got Leon a penalty - the lino was on the wrong side of the pitch too. Only 3000 people in the South Stand saw it!!

Wrexham hardly had a chance - except when we were 2 goals up (how many times have we got to 2-0 and then stopped playing?)

All-in-all I'm well pleased with this result against a potentially difficult team. We now need to start to recover the lost ground following Coppell's departure - I reckon we probably dropped a minimum of 7 points in those 5 games that we otherwise wouldn't. It's almost as bad as having them deducted by the FA.
