Liverpool are seriously lacking in their midfield at the moment, which for Liverpool has posed a problem with their gegenpressing style for some time- and our AM is exactly where we are very strong - which is presumably why they are holding out for Bellingham - ironically, one of the players they most would like this window is not only gonna help trash their MF on Saturday but according to the player himself, he has no intention of crossing over to the Red side this month. Difficult to know if they play their first team to try and beat us or play a weaker team so they can avoid injuries and concentrate on top 4 - I think the Top 4 is more important to them tbh so hoping for a weaker line-up. But it will be a great end to end imo.

We know RDZ will be going 100% all out to win!

3-1 for me.
You know this is the PL game right? Why would they play a weaker side against us in the PL if they want to finish top 4?

Honestly, probably not. Liverpool fans are terrified to play us right now given their form vs ours. Just read that article above my post Rogero posted. We've scored 25 goals in our last 9 games, average of 2.8 per game. Scored 3 goals on 3 occasions, four twice and a recent 5 goal outing.

Absolute mental stuff, what a time to be an Albion fan.
Liverpool have scored 17 and conceded 12 in their last nine games in all competitions compared to our 25.

Bloody nuts I tell ya, nuts!!!.

This is what it's all about for me... it's only Tuesday and that pre-match excitement is already beginning for the visit of one of the great clubs of world football. It would be great to beat them, not because I hate them like I do Chelsea, but because Liverpool is a yardstick to measure where we are. Oh and 3 points would be nice too...

The 'De Zerbi out' thread Saturday evening, after they've wee-wee'd down our leg and told us it's raining, is gonna be well lush.

Bellingham's off to Citeh or Real, ignore the media noise, Liverpool cannot compete at a £120m fee AND mega wages. They'll have to buy cheaper defensively minded CM'ers.

Which means you'll be seeing a load of Citeh and Real trophy winning in the next 10 years. Pretty much, as you have been.

Liverpool seems to not have any recruitment strategy. They won't fight with Citeh, Chelsea, Real, PSG etc . for the cream of the talent and they don't scout the hidden talent for gems to develop.

Julian Ward current Director of Football has only been in the job a few months and already given in his notice. The previous one, Michael Edwards, left to go to ManUre. Says that there's problems behind the scenes imo.

The top 7 don’t seem to effectively go for the young overseas talent such as Caicedo, Mac A. Chelsea’s approach over the last 20 years was a vast scattergun approach, sometimes illegally hence the ban, of taking on hundreds of next best things with inducements to families. Anything to stop Arsenal or Barca getting them.

Michael Edwards and Klopp was a brilliant double act, giving a small net spend, yet every conceivable trophy. He stepped down on non disclosed health grounds, needing a lengthy break from the sport. Chelsea then tried to recruit him and failed, ManU too last autumn.

Julian Ward is a hard one to get to the bottom of, it’s not an Ashworth or Winstanley situation, he leaves next summer.

In reply to your first comment, Liverpool and Tottenham simply don’t spend more than they earn from true club income. Even Kronke at Arsenal has started the cheating. In the environment of an ever growing number of clubs NOT adhering to that in a vast way, it’s a miracle that trophies were won imho. That must be down to Edwards and Klopp. Fenway Sports Group simply refuse to put in a $ for players.

Tottenham are about to blink first, taking a £1b investment from Qatar for a minority stake, to spend. The spending pressure from PSG, City, Newcastle, Real, Arsenal and Chelsea has finally told on Levy/Lewis.

(Yes I know these things in football invariably go wrong and sorry for tempting fate) but shirley it'll be an Albion win and a comfortable one?
Liverpool are strong favourites with the bookies, so fill your boots

That's terrifying reading. Nice for our ego's but they've near universally written off their chances. We've kept one clean sheet in our last ten games and that was against a team in the bottom half of league one. With the attacking power they have they will score at least once and probably multiple times. We're going to most likely have to score three or more goals to win. Admittedly we've done that in six of those ten games...

I don't buy into the Albion being favourites narrative at all. I think it's just the scousers struggling with not being overwhelming favourites and the match being closer to 50-50. We could spank them, they could spank us, it could be the odd goal in seven or another 3-3. If I was a betting man the only thing I'd be confident about is that both teams will score and there'll be a high number of goals.

So 0-0 or 1-0 either way it is then...

it's strange that a team full of these "names" would go into a game as second favourites

but it seems as equally strange that we could ever field a team as good as this

should be a cracking game

Not really !!

Matip and kanoute poor

Hendo, fab and thiago absolute plodders. All three midtable level, thiago still shows flashes I guess

Alexander Arnold can't defend I mean really can't defend. Him Vs mitoma is gonna be box office.

Their team is pretty average at the moment.

However it can still cause us major issues once we go on one of our attacks with 9 players and they hoof it up to Salah who's suddenly one on one like that mboro player the other day :)
