Did relatively well. Brentford seemed a bit desperate at times, with some of their play. I would agree with @Colonel Mustard in that they weren’t anti-football last night (I relate that to time-wasting etc - see both games last season), but they were niggly.

Haven’t read the thread, but felt Steele was outstanding if not a little careless with his passing at times, but that is the purpose of warm-up games.

Love Pedro and Adingra, Gilmour very tidy, still work to do, but this is extremely exciting.

The only player I’ve thought hasn’t quite shown up so far IMO has been Enciso, though obviously hope he’s okay after the knock at the end.
Yep. Brentford are a good pressing team who can shift it nicely when they win it. And two of our goals in our last two matches against them have been route 1 from the keeper to beat that press!

They are physical and waste a lot of time in competitive games, but last night were just trying to win it high up.

I've only seen the goals so far. And a save.

Adingra loves an in-off eh?

Alzate's cool pass for the second was rather lovely.

A much more traditional pre-season run-out last night. Once again we look good going forward, Pedro and Adingra oozing class. Steele looking every inch the number one in goal, he already looks to have improved on last season. Defence was difficult to judge as we really haven’t played one yet on this tour. Very ramshackle at the back but we somehow got away with it. We will face that Brentford press a lot this season so the game was very useful in that regard. Great experience for the youngsters to get acquainted with the increase in pace and pressure encountered in the senior game.

All in all another enjoyable 90minutes on what is looking like a very successful tour

Where's Adingra popped up from? Has he played for us before?

Signed last summer from that Danish side that has strong links in west Africa (can't remember the club's name, but I think Kudus also played for them), before being loaned to USG for the season. Posted very similar stats to Mitoma in his spell there.

Thought we played better in the first hour against Chelsea, although Brentford are a better side and fielded a strong line-up. Fortunate to survive their high press early on but then great to see how teams who think they've cracked it are forced to adapt to our tactics. Steele kept pinging that ball into Enciso/Joao Pedro and they realised chasing us all around the box left them too vulnerable. Overall, that little bit of extra individual class made the difference in a game we probably didn't deserve to win - not sure we've been able to say that very often about Brighton at this level. A sign we're really moving forward.

Yer it's usually us dominating against Chelsea's or spurs and end up losing. Nice to be the other team for once.

Didn’t watch last night but just seen this. All I can say is WOW! The touch and finish by Adingra for his first was absolutely sublime 👏👏👏👏

I approve of the angle shown from 16 seconds into the video

Watched the highlights and now watching a bit of the game on Sky whilst enjoying a post-gym bacon sarnie. Adingra is electric……and that first touch from Steele’s pass and instant shot was just sublime - interesting to see how the teams that doubled up on Mitoma are going to cope with both of them in the team. Joao Pedro looks the mutts wotsits. We’ve strengthened significantly up front. Keep Moises and get an RB and who knows……..
