Did nybody look like they are near a 1st team spot or able to step up in an emergency

Right now, he's nowhere near fit enough but based on about 60 minutes of football I've seen him play I'd say Hambo could certainly handle himself at senior level. I don't know if his ability at that level would let him down or not but he could certainly step up and compete physically with the opposition center backs and give them something to think about. I can't imagine we'd see him this season though as still needs to get his fitness levels up.

I thought Bjordal looked good but we were playing against a Newcastle side made up predominantly of u18s so it'll be interesting to see how he competes against more experienced players. He looked promising though.

The 19-year-old was in action for the Under-21 team of Brighton in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the U21 Premier League Division 2 on Wednesday night and lasted the distance at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.
