I wonder if we have anyone lined up?
Four of the loan players gone now making our squad very small. I really hope we can keep free of injuries and suspensions now. I also hope tomorrows game is called off and as many games as possible in January, until our squad gets strengthened. But the signs do not look good to me.
I fear for our future this season.

Bath, Somerset.
Sp, Anyinsah has gone to Carlisle, and Micky is now playing down our interest in Wotton or Burchall.

And even if Leeds are willing to sell Bradley Johnson, I don't see how we could afford him, particularly with other clubs apparently interested in him.

So where are we going to find the players we need to strengthen the squad?

I'm quickly getting a bad feeling about this transfer window; we're going to miss out again, or make panic signings of untested youngsters from lower divisions who fail to deliver.

I really do hope I am proved wrong, but I'm starting to get a sense of deja vu

I need a bit of that Harty " Micky will turn this around" talk.
Because he knows something I don't know if he still truly believes that statement. I would have thought we would have one replacement signed by now, if we had truly got ourselves geared up for this transfer window.

I'm also surprised at the comments made by Adams on the subject of Birchill missing some games due his T&T commitments. It isn't as if he just starting playing for them is it?

If he isn't going to sign for this reason why bother getting him down here in the first place?

Because it looks like we are "attempting" to sign players, keeping us, the fans, slightly happier than if we saw NOTHING happening

Birchall has a hard job of displacing Virgo and El Abd in the middle of midfield, so wasnt going tok play every game anyway. He will miss just THREE weeks from now until the end of the season, so I think he is worth signing, even if the contract is only until the end of the season. Maybe then he can join the Earthquakes

I find it frightening that we only have 15 fit players with any first team experience.
What happens if we get further injuries or suspensions.

I must say that, whilst I have been unhappy about the last few months and our current league position, I had been confident that Barry Lloyd, Dick Knight and Micky Adams would have identified their targets ready for the window opening, and moved quickly to strengthen the squad.

It sounds like there is some money available to spend, but we have not even been able to sign any of the loan players to date, let alone bring in new faces. If we are still unable to compete on the pitch this month (with a weakened squad without new signings), our season will be ruined as last year's was in the last January transfer window.

What is the point of Barry Lloyd being Chief Scout if Micky Adams is only interested in bringing in his former players?
