Southampton spending almost as much on City academy youngsters as the entire La Liga net spend this summer says a lot about the state of things.

Either PL starts to regulate its own economy or the other leagues will start to introduce commercial breaks every 15 minutes, a dozen Super Leagues and all kinds of shite to make some money and inevitably that shit will end up in the PL as well. The madness need to stop or football will get destroyed and commercialised even beyond todays standards.

As previously mentioned, Ferran Torres at E55m + E10m in add-ons occurred in Jan -- and the figures are for 2022. Still leaves a little bit to be accounted for, but we're not too far away from that figure.
