At the risk of Meldrewing this thread, would it be too much to ask for a home shirt next season that doesn't look like they ran out of blue two thirds of the way down and an away shirt that's a slightly better colour than maroon?

I agree regarding the blue not finishing two thirds of the way down but I hope we don't revert to the old blue. I've got used to and now prefer the lighter blue. I also hope they don't have that plastic iron on SKINT. I've already had one replaced as it has cracked and peeled and the same has happened again.

Yeah, I agree with the plastic skint on the shirts, theyre awful. I'd like to see the return of the old blue though, so much better. And its a brighton blue. As for the material, can we have the same lycra material that the white palace shirts are made of, AND NO COLLARS !!!!

Who else really hates the collar on the current home shirt ?

Yeah, the collar is shit and so is the iron-on patch. It really annoys me that of all the kits we've had in the last few years, two of the best were done by Bellotti (classic blue and white Sandtex one and Inter Milan away one.) The colour of the new shirt is great but the white final third of it makes it unwearable - why would fans want to tuck it in?

Inter Milan away is one of my all-time faves

Maroon will be the third kit.

I'd rather the logo isn't a stciker as well but as Skint have only today confirmed their sponsorship they'll probably say that we didn't know if they'd be our sponsor and couldn't tell Errea early enough. :(

I'm surprised the question hasn't been put to insider yet !!!

I think the mention of the new away kit is in reference to the fact that since they have signed a 2 year deal, they will still be our sponsor when we change our away kit in the 2007/08 season.

It refers to palookaville which insider confirmed is being replaced, maybe with the maroon becoming our third kit and the new change strip becoming the away kit

From Insider:
No it won't [be part of the kit] - the reason being that the shirt wouldn't be ready until October unless it is manufactured in this way! The shirt is already made, with the sponsors name now set to be applied (99% of shirts are now made this way). If we were to be beginning production now, we would have a long wait before shirts were on sale.

Also, we confident this problem has been solved: the new application process (used on maroon and navy kits) is much better than the application process used on the last home kit (which was a problem). The club shop haven't had one of the maroon or navy shirts returned for this reason.

Sounds good. I've never had any problem with the "sticker" on my maroon, palookaville, or white shirts, so maybe it is just the crappy home one?

Seems likely, however how come we can't see what the kit looks like till July ? Or did insider mis-understand my question and think i meant go on sale
