HGP for the 3rd choice Keeper. Was a decent prospect back in the day so hopefully Ben Roberts can work his magic.

As 3rd choice I like the move. As 2nd who we know will have to play a half dozen games I'd be worried right now. Better to have one keeper in though than none. Let's hope IF we need another though that he's even better.

Mentality makes all the difference as a keeper and it can't have been nice for him being at a club in turmoil where the fans seemingly despised him.

Maybe being at a club that isn't a total basket case, with a world-class setup and stable ownership/management could rejuvenate him.

This.

He isn't going to be our number 1 and, IMHO, unlikely even to be the assumed number 2 so not really all that concerned provided MR stays uninjured and we have Krul (or Button) as the first choice while Maty is off on international duties.

Do hope that Walton only has one more season in the wilderness before he gets a proper chance. Much as game time is important, he also needs to be part of THIS club. A couple of seasons of cup and cover and he can challenge for the number 1 shirt.

Just need 1 more HGP keeper for 1 season, then Walton can come into the squad.

If we can't get Krul, then rather than £4 million for Button, perhaps Birmingham fancy loaning us back Stockdale for the season.

Walton having that recall option on his loan means that if CH and BR think he is ready, he could be called back when Ryan goes to the Asia Cup. It certainly leaves us the option.

If we have a recall option, does that mean we can have him back at the start of January, then let him go back again on the 31st?

We definitely have a recall option and when I asked that question about timing during the week i'm sure someone replied to say that's correct

Yes, unless Wigan make other plans and get someone else in as soon as he goes.

Have you seen the size of Stocko these days?
Not sure he'd fit in the subs seats.

Is he going a little Neville Southall? Have to say I always thought Stocko was a bit lardy even when he was here.

A quick check and it looks like Stocko might get his dream move to Leeds?
