dunno. its been around for quite a while now. argument just goes round in circles. you'd think someone would know by now

this is how it happens.

player's contract expires so technically he is out of contract. Club is obliged to either offer his a similar or better deal that the previous one, or give him the opportunity to find a new club before the clubs need to register their players with the league.

If he does, then he is free to sign for them. if not, then his original club can always take him back if they want.


this is what happened to Navarro last time......

Not quite. Players contracts end on the 30th June however, their club are obliged to either offer the same or better deal within 7 days of, either the first Saturday in May or the date of the last fixture. They don't have to wait until the contract actually expires. Players are therefore given the chance to find a club before their contract actually ends.
