Must be after 1977 because that’s when the club badge changed to a seagull. It’s not the Cup Final team. Can’t think of anything else we’d have celebrated apart from promotion to the first division.

Pretty sure it’s the 1979 promotion celebration “Division 1 - here we come”. I remember watching the bus - certainly had some photos of it in Western Road outside M&S but they now live with my ex!
Gary Williams is at the top of photo. The guy that looks like Melia is one of the coaches/trainers who had been at the club for years, Glen Wilson. Similar pic in the “Seagulls! The story of Brighton & Hove Albion”.

I was thinking that might have been
Gerry Ryan (L) and Jimmy Melia (R) under red dots ???
I thought that was Glen wilson- ex player and then trainer (in the days before physios) and kit man

Carried Chris Ramsey off at Wembley with a fireman's lift

‘79 promotion to Division 1 ?
That was my first thought on seeing it. I don't remember similar parades for the other promotions of the Mullery era. (That just might be my memory. The '79 one was the only one like that I went to - or remember going to)

EDIT: Definitely not the Cup Final Runner's Up parade which I seem to remember was quite wet.

This is the logo on the baseball stadium for the Chicago White Sox. They just finished the season in October with the worst record ever in all of the MLB seasons. Coincidence? Maybe Not? Should Rate replace Amex as the Falmer stadium sponsor?

Albion’s ‘victory parade’ after gaining promotion to Division One in May 1979. I woz there! The bus went along the seafront and finally made it to Hove town hall where the players went on the the balcony to be presented to the fans. They also did a lap of honour around the Goldstone pitch - which had been dug up for the next season. Heady days! :ascarf:

I was still up north celebrating and missed the parade.

It's a Leyland Titan PD3/4.
New to Southdown Motor Services as 418DCD this bus was re-registered to PRX200B before sale by Stagecoach, transferred to United Counties for use as a driver trainer it was later purchased for preservation by a group in the Worthing area and was restored in NBC Green livery, after many many years in storage it was sold to a preservationist in Southampton and restored, sold again after a few months the vehicle was exported to Poland.

No idea who the herberts hanging off it are.
