I haven't seen the question and don't know how it was worded, but Independiente Del Valle had a 20% sell-on fee as part of the deal with us so the total fee we ended up paying to them would indeed have been around £25m.
But the question was during Graham Potter‘s time - he hadn’t been sold during that tenure so technically you could argue the sell-on doesn’t count

The dull part of the south coast
34 - or 35 really, I knew the answer for one question but accidentally hit the wrong button, so I'm counting it as 35!
Plus, I got the Caicedo question 'wrong' as well.
I got 36 - should really have been 38 as I pressed the wrong button for back to back promotions, the Caicedo answer was wrong in the quiz, as for El Gatwicko - that’s just a load of bollocks.

Not when you include the 20% sell-on, he wasn't.
The question asks specifically who was most expensive when Graham Potter was at the club. Potter left in September 2022 and Caicedo left almost a year later in August 2023.

Even if Chelsea paid all the 115m upfront which I doubt, his sell on payments would've occurred long after Potter left and they wouldn't equal 25m with orginal purchase.

I actually think the author has simply got their sums wrong and its referring to initial transfer.

Anyway all much to do about nothing!

38/40, but 39 really, as like others have pointed out, the Caicedo answer is absolutely not correct.

Question 8 - The one relating to the name given to our rivalry with Crystal Palace. I have never heard anyone call it any of those answers. Someone at Four Four Two has just made that up...

Transfermarkt also state £25M.

And ultimately, when Independiente's sell on is factored in, he might have cost that.

But it still wouldn't be the correct answer the specific question posed:

"Who was Brighton's record signing under Graham Potter?" We signed Caicedo 'under GP' for £4-8m. We signed Webster 'under GP' for £20m.

We did not pay £25m for Caicedo! It was definitely £6-8m.

Got the rest right, except I put Ryan for the most capped international.
It seems the quiz setter has either asked a trick question, or just looked it up on something like Transfermarkt. They record the fee as the total including sell on fees. We did end up paying about £25m, after selling him to Chelsea for such a huge profit, but the initial fee was £4.5m: https://www.skysports.com/football/...on-sign-ecuador-international-on-deadline-day

The question setter probably churns out about 20 of these a day for clubs he has no idea about. It's definitely a wrong answer taken from Transfermarkt without the full context.
