So who was our first foreign born international player?

It depends what you mean by "foreign born". Our very first international player, Charlie Webb, was born in Ireland.

But if you are not considering Ireland as a "foreign" land, Jacob Cohen and Moshe Gariani (who played for Israel against Sweden on Nov 12 1980).

Maty Ryan in a friendly but it was just before he signed for us.

Only if you consider "just before" being over a year before he signed for us. We've already ruled out Leon Balogun as he hadn't officially joined us at the time England played Nigeria in a warm up game for the 2018 World Cup. I'm fairly certain AZ Gull is correct and no contracted Brighton player (outside of those representing another UK nation or Ireland) has ever started an international against England. Jakub Moder could create history on Wednesday night.

There used to be boards up at the Goldstone listing our international caps. They were all home nation's until Ivar Ingimarsson in 2002/3. Then in 2014 it goes crazy and was abandoned, as from then on we've had at least a couple of players playing for somewhere in every international break! Kemy Agustien is even in the final batch!

According to those boards no non home nation player appeared against England and the last home grown was Penney and Wilson in 86/87 and the first was Jack Doran in 1920!
I took pictures of the board's but can't seem to upload them.

Sorry, forgot to agree that Cohen and Gariani in 1980 were our first foreign internationals.

I was convinced that Chris Birchall was one, but he joined us a couple of years after turning out for Trinidad and Tobego at the 2006 world cup!

We actually had two members of that Trinidad and Tabago World Cup squad on trial during pre-season before the start of the 05-06 season. Brent Sancho played against Lewes at the Dripping Pan and Kalvin Jack played against Bognor, both were due to play in another pre-season game against Colchester but I'm not sure if they did or not. Neither were given contracts, Sancho was at Gillingham and Jack at Dundee when they played in the 2006 World Cup.

Rami Shabaan - only Albion player in the Panini World Cup Annual in '06 (possibly...needs fact checking)

Shabaan had left Brighton by the time the 06 World Cup happened think he was playing in Norway by then.

Only player I can think of who has had a sticker while an Albion player is Steve Penney in the Mexico 86 album.

Not sure if Fozzy made the 82 album or not and I don’t think Jose Izquierdo got a sticker in the 2018 edition.

Was there a Panini album for EURO 2016? If so, was Jiri Skalak in there?
