[Albion] Albion on TV for the price of a season ticket

Sorry if this has come up elsewhere - I only dip in from time to time. I’m interested in knowing how folks would feel about a deal with the club that enabled season ticket holders to watch all of Albion’s games live on TV until such time as we can attend the AMEX - which IMO is a long way off. I know that there are major complications with this idea - Sky, BT, Amazon, the other clubs etc. But, I for one would be prepared to carry on paying for my ST and Mrs H’s ST if I knew I could watch all the games live on TV As we have done since the restart. Is this a goer or a no-wayer?

The club would be able to sell 40,000 'TV' season tickets at least I would think.

Put a camera/robot in my seat that I can control by the app and view thru a big TV screen, including sound so that I can sing along to Sussex By The Sea and cheer/boo (the ref obvs). No problems with getting a drink, cheap pies, can still chat to the bot next to me, avoids travel (saves the planet, and can turn car park into social housing). factor in all expenses and a WSU seat price and a season ticket at £1200 pa is a bargain.I'm in.

If this became a reality and an additional serious income stream for the Club - you'd like to think the Club could then reprice tickets for people actually attending the games - say £10 a pop and keep the corporate the same as is.

If a family of 4 had season tickets, the likelihood is that they'd all watch on one TV at home, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to pay for 4 ST's if viewing together.

If it was a short term thing until August or November then maybe, but can't see it being a goer if the whole season see's no attentdance allowed by supporters.

It would be the ruin of #TeamsLikeBrighton - we'd get a fraction of the sum we receive via the collectively-bargained national and international TV deals under the Premier League's umbrella.

How much would someone distant from Sussex pay for an Albion streaming season ticket? £100? We'd need to sell in excess of 1,000,000 of them. £500? Reckon you can find 200,000 people (or, in fact, homes) who would pay that?

It would be great for the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool. Those who make up the numbers in the Premier League - not so much.

Yeap it would end up like the Spanish league, we'd struggle to sell more than 50k TV ST's even with closed doors

I'd be happy to buy a TV ST if such a thing existed. I hate to say it, but I actually prefer watching games on TV most of the time. I don't like the accessibility and location of the Amex and how much time is wasted for 90 minutes of football, or sitting down.

Whilst the idea of of a TV ST is appealing the thought of paying over £500 for it isn't.

This is how it works for us long liners. We get Albion games on Cable via NBC SN - About 20 times a year. For the balance of the games, we log into NBCSports and purchase a Premier League subscription for $60 a year.

I don't know how much of that ends up in Tony's pocket. Probably 10 shillings. I don't care for the Premier League but for the fact that Championship would mean almost no available TV coverage.

I'd be willing to pay 5x what I pay today IF I knew that was going into the club directly.

For my Sky / BT / Virgin subscription, say £100 pcm = £1,200 pa - rather than have to watch #teamslikethetop6 every week I'd like the deal to be quota-ed - every game is televised but your subscription only allows 50 live games per season. You pick the games you want.

I'd watch every BHA game [league & cup] if if I had a couple of credits left over I can choose which games are interesting to me. Then you are free to watch only the games you'd like to watch

No way would I be prepared to pay what I do for 2 seats in ESL to watch on TV.

I’ve no idea what the club is proposing for the coming season but I wish they’d hurry up and tell us. Continuing to take our money each month with no idea how they will provide the product we’re paying for is just plain wrong.

We pay roughly 126 quid a month for my wife and I to watch live football. Are you saying you would pay the same amount to watch on tv ? BT Sport charge 15 quid a month and Now TV 20 quid a month (for 10 months only).Both give two log ins so by sharing with another family member we pay half of even these amounts. It is not in any way comparable to the cost of a season ticket, particularly when multiple season tickets in the same household are taken into account. If the cost were 15 quid a month in total (with two log ins so we can share the cost) I would go ahead and would finance it by not renewing my Now tv subscription.

Maybe I should have been clearer about seeing this as a temporary measure until we are able to go safely to the AMEX again. I want BHAFC to survive so I’m happy to keep paying for my ST but in return I do expect to be able to watch the games albeit, for now at least, remotely.

We can watch a few of the games on BT and Now tv/Sky at reasonable prices. I doubt clubs would propose selling a tv package at season ticket prices, particularly with the issue of multiple season ticket households. It doesn’t matter how temporary, I wouldn’t pay that sort of money for the privilege of sitting in my own living room. Football is about the day out and once that is removed it really isn’t worth much (to me). It would be cheaper to just become a generic PL fan and follow Brighton from afar ie only when televised. It is about value for money on a limited budget and if the product is only tv football then that money could be better used elsewhere.

Both of those too! . . . . TBH I do sit down when its game over, or I'm relaxed (not often!). But then in the mid 90's we could literally lay down sun/rain bathing on the east terrace.
