In amongst the rest of today's Albion news from the Argus.

Shame if he was half as good as the other French midfielders we have he would have been pretty damn good :(

I love the bit where it says Dean White had to abandon a scouting trip when it was discovered he'd signed for someone else. We're obviously right on top of that one then!

I thought a few more trialists might have played in this game. :(

Clearly. If we hadn't been on top of it, he wouldn't have abandoned the trip.

How come our target is now a midfielder rather than a left-back? When did that change? Does this mean that McGhee is now happy with the options for that position?

Think we're still on the look out for a left-back as well as a central midfielder and striker(s)

That's not what the Argus says though: "...if he (McGhee) can land the trio of outfield players - two strikers and a central midfielder - he is after"

Last I heard we were still looking for one.
But perhaps now he thinks that with Hinsh on his way back, there may be ways of filling the position (or putting pressure on Kerry) with others playing out of position...

Id disagree, have given away to many sloppy goals.

Last year the team would have held onto 1-0 leads this year they are not.

would not be to up set if that happened, but what are the chances?

We will have to ask Uncle Spielberg, he seems to be very good on odds :jester:

He certainly deserves a chance after Soton match. Hopefully we have seen the last of Mayo at left back. Fairly good distribution and link up with Frutos, but too dangerous.

So as we had two strikers in mind, and a foreign midfielder, i take it now we only have two strikers in mind and henderson :(

And a left back hopefully. Though Lynch did well and I look forward to seeing him against Lee on saturday.

We need a striker & Midfielder first IMO

In order of priority:
Midfielder - we're BADLY missing Oatway
Left back - that Lynch looks useful but is too young, and got skinned for Saints winner last week.
Striker - none of us know really, because McGhee hasn't given our existing strikers the chance to prove themselves properly. CKR & JR/MM for 5 or 6 games please. Then take another look.

we need someone to come in for oatway as a prioirty - dont think it is any coincidence we have lost every game since he has been out

More a leadership / captaincy issue than a loss of playing ability, I feel.
