It would never be that imaginative.

Surely the club badge is legally protected and could only be used / replicated with the club's permission.

They are surely going to be getting a knock from Barber's enforcers before too long. And quite rightly. The club has to protect its IP.

The company I work for does clothing for the club, we do embroidery and transfers for employees. I've asked and we're not allowed to just slap the badge on personal garments as you need the clubs permission, otherwise I'd start my own clothing range.
