It looks like the game with Le Havre will be either on the 8th July(Friday), or the 9th(Saturday). Liz Costa is trying to arrange a coach for anyone interested.
If that happens I'll be looking very seriously at going.
Just had a quick look at the Le Havre web site, www.hac-foot.com
Features a little profile on Mr Byrne, who looks like he was the guest of honour at a recent home game, and a campaign called: 'Un nouveau stade pour tous'. Sounds strangely familiar...
Foot passengers on Hoverspeed from Newhaven only cost about £10. Get the train then from Dieppe to Le Havre. (You may have to go via Rouen, but I am not sure - the SNCF website wasn't working properly earlier.) Trains in France cost sod all. I am guessing here, but I cannot imagine it being much more the £10-£15 to get the train. Total journey time? About 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
I have never been to Le Havre, but assuming it's a shithole, I understand Honfleur on the other side of the the Seine is very nice. I have friends who have a house there, but have yet to visit them there. And it's home to the Erik Satie museum...
Just one thing though, I understand that this is a tie up / love in with Le Havre, but what does each club get out of this? More specifically, what does the Albion get out of this?
