Just as a matter of interest, or perhaps not of interest, we went to see Colorado avalanche ice hockey game in Denver a few months ago and every person had to walk though an airport style scanner, removing all metal objects into a small tray.

So they take security far more seriously than out token pat of teh shoulders.

Maybe that is coming at some point.
Already have metal detector wands in 1901 and have for quite a while. There was a period where you had to remove keys, coins and phone beforehand as well but they now tend not to bother.

'Interestingly' (no, not really) someone else is picking up the batton and sending tweets about cyrille regis. Not sent to the club though - wonder what the response will be this time, and the next and so on.

You understand the club aren't worried about bottle tops being thrown?
It's to prevent the chucking of full (heavy) bottles

Right. But it’s about health and safety. You understand that, right? And yet one of the things which could cause most damage is being allowed in because it benefits the club. You get this, right?

Unfortunately the price we pay for open discourse through modern technology is that it always involves immature and dickish behavior at some stage. So be it. It's the weighing of the effects of that behavior that should then give a sensible reference to law.

Platforms like Twitter are frustrating as we are exposed to views that may interrupt the line of conversation we want to sensibly engage in. Again, so be it.

If the person in question makes offensive remarks, and being offended is not exclusively the remit of a 'snowflake', most folk should be aware through their annoyance that said dickhead's remarks do not constitute a wider view.

There seems to be an inconsistency here. I have seen much in Twitter that would mean hundreds of bans from many clubs if there was an even application of the iron fist. But much goes unreported. I'm not sure that it is for the club to issue a ban as the reputation hasn't been besmirched among rational thinking folk- and they form the overwhelming majority.

Club 1 Dickhead 0

But I think VAR may have been used. Very Authoritarian Rationale.

Silly old bat
Yep - same at Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto FC a couple of months ago. At the baseball, our water bottles were emptied into plastic cups before we even got near the ground - wouldn't surprise me if this is the next step.

This happened at Wembley last season when we played Spurs.

Done a Frexit, now in London
Getting into West Ham last week, you go through a tent and then the guy asks if you have anything in your pocket to which I replied YES, keys, wallet, phone and he waved me on ??? Not even a pat down or wave with the wand.

Do they shout " expelliamus" when they point it at you?

Never understood the appeal of Twitter. Life would be so much better without it - & most other social media platforms tbh.

Are you sure:-

You wait til they discover the porn you’ve been watching. We’ll all be banned!

Also, I was thinking of booking Dicks Bar for a Jerry Sadowitz night. Better rethink that one.

Why ? The Bernard Manning tribute guy has sold Dicks out in March.

That's because they didn't refuse to serve the gay customers, they just refused the message, which they're allowed to do. Another example is where a photographer didn't want to cover a gay wedding. They were sued and lost.
Do you mean "but won"? If not, how is it another example?

Hopefully the person realises he/her has been a silly billy, think more before they type on a keyboard.
Quite ironic you put that (unique in my experience) error in that particular sentence!)

No, the photographer lost. It's another example of someone being sued because they refused to do what the customer asked for, but the result was different to the cake case.
