But boss Gus Poyet is increasingly confident of bringing back Kazenga LuaLua from Newcastle on a long-term loan.

Albion are closing in on a deal to bring back Kazenga LuaLua on loan.

The left winger shone when borrowed from Newcastle towards the end of last season and could return on a similar arrangement.

Boss Gus Poyet said today: "I won't say it's close until it's done but we are getting there. We have got a chance. I'm confident."

Poyet has ended his interest in Filipe Morais, the former Millwall left winger who has been on trial recently.
