Geez, hoofball! I trust were not going to have that sort of nonsense at the Amex! That 'pass' went 40 yards, right up in he air - the player who hoofed it could so easily have turned and played the ball along the ground to one of his colleagues behind hm. You know, like proper football..............
And why didn't Towell trap the ball properly, get it under control and then look up to see if any support was coming through, and pass to them in a civilised fashion instead of just lamping it?
Wheel loose - indeed, the wheels will come right off with this sort of kick and rush stuff!
Dundalk fan here,
IMO you have yourself a very talented and dedicated player with a point to prove returning to the UK. He was brilliant for Dundalk over the 3 years he was with us, and added goals to his game this season. 29 in all competitions in not to be sniffed at in any league. Its a big step up for him to play in the championship but it must be pointed out that he excelled in our Champions League matches against BATE Borisov who are currently holding their own in the group stages.
You may be lead to believe from his goals that he is a no 10 but he actually plays a lot deeper and likes to dictate play and arrive into the box late on. He was playing in a 3 man midfield with us, which gave him freedom to roam forward without neglecting his defensive duties.
I believe you mainly play with 2 in the middle which could be interesting to see how he will fit in, without having the freedom of an extra man beside him. One thing is for sure, he wont be found wanting in the motivation or dedication department, he has the skill to match it and I just hope he gets a chance to show you what he is capable of.

This is a view from an ex-workmate of mine called Sam, who is a Cork fan, the team that Dundalk beat recently in the final over in Ireland - welcome comments particularly on attitude and fitness.
"Well, the first thing you can say about any Dundalk player, and this is why they ran away with the league, is that they're all fitter, stronger, more confident, and more comfortable on the ball than any other team. It's just the way Stephen Kenny runs his team. And Towell is the epitome of that. He was rarely ever substituted, even when Dundalk were running away with the game. I think he missed one game last season, but can't remember whether he was rested, injured, or suspended. He puts in loads of extra work in his own time, so in terms of fitness and attitude, on and off the pitch, he has every chance of making it. Great team player, great competitor. He's not the tallest, though
In terms of skill, it's hard to say where he ranks in Championship terms. The League of Ireland is generally considered (by us, at least) to be League 1 standard, but Towell was far and away the best player in the league. He was always a second ahead of the play, a good give-and-go player.
I've seen Brighton fans talking about him like he's a specialist attacking midfielder who won't fit into Hughton's 4-4-2, but they're being deceived by the goal tally. He's more like a mid-2000s box-to-box Lampard. I'd delighted to see him leave Ireland from that point of view."
