With £150m income and £50m loss, obviously cost £200m to run the club for a year. Has anybody got the running cost for same period at similar size clubs like Burnley, Southampton,Palace and any others. I would be amazed if anywhere near ours. Seems loss has been blamed on lack of crowds but if we had, had full house every game say with total income of £20m ish we would still have lost £25/30m

No you’re right but no industry compares to football. But Tony Bloom sets the playing budget and agrees to offset it so not really Paul’s fault. I imagine his bonus based on the commercial side of the business as that is within his control

Incredible that Tony can shrug off £120 million over two years. Running a business that has net liabilities of £174 million.
Of note is directors pay approx £2.5million. Highest paid director got just over 2 million. Presumably Barber as would be pointless Tony paying himself !!

Southampton have lost £23m and £76m in last two seasons, so be amazed

Technically speaking I think they'll all come back, unless a pre-agreed loan-to-buy option is taken up. Come the end of the transfer window though, most will be out again, either permanentl or on loan - but I really hope one or two at least make a Ben White-like breakthrough to our first team. Guessing who is another matter!

I think Matt Clarke will be sold. Two years in the Championship and I think he has found his level, so to with Ostigard as I think he will stay in Italy but not necessary with Genoa.
What the Van Hecke looks the best prospect to replace Duffy or possibly if funds allow Joe Rodon added as well from Spuds.
if Trossard goes surly Sarmiento will get his chance to stake a permanent claim and assuming if BASS goes then Mwepu will be first choice with Moises Caicedo as his understudy, the only worry there is that Mwepu seems injury prone so it could be a baptism of fire for the young Ecuadorian. The others I haven't a clue but I liked the work rate in the high press of zeqiri so whether he gets another chance we will see.

I'd assume this kind of deal does NOT apply to CPFC2010 though. It would be foolish in the extreme not to get as much of the transfer fee front-loaded when dealing with the spivs.

No, I'm aware of amortisation and the difference.

I'd been under the (mistaken) assumption for a long time that transfers fees are paid in full, up front. They are not.

This is why, when a club goes into administration, you often see a lot of "football debts" owed to other football clubs, which (after HMRC), are prioritised if/when funds become available.

There may be variations on deals depending on various factors (who's dealing with who, desperation of the buying/selling club etc), but it is quite standard for the transfer fee to be paid over the course of the players contract.
