How awful - I used to (past tense) until I discovered either of these anti-mossie sprays. Until then I had tried just about every other one on the market without success. Trouble is I don't know if you can get them in the UK.

I took all my family to Tirana for my 60th birthday last April and absolutely loved it. The locals are so friendly and pleased that people can now visit.

I’m hoping to visit Durres on the Adriatic later this year but it does get incredibly hot.

There’s loads of developments popping up in Tirana and a new international airport is due to open down the coast from Durres later this year. Go sooner rather than later as it’ll be unrecognisable in a few years time.

I went to Albania a few months ago. Drove the short distance from Tirana to Durres (lovely place) and then to Girokasker in the south. Stayed in a great hotel in the mountains overlooking the town. Great place, great people, great value. Not too far from Sorander where you can get the ferry to Corfu. As others have said: go now before it gets too popular

More mosquito advice actually that I just remembered

Buy some roll on anti perspirant that has aluminium in the ingredients

Roll that over any bites

The itching/allergic reaction will stop for a while, then re-do it later on if it comes back. I have no idea about the science on it, but I read about it years ago, tried it, and it works. Does nothing for what the bite looks like but it stops you going crazy with the scratching
