Northern Hemisphere.
Sugar should go back to just making sexist comments on twitter. At least that way, being alongside Karen Brady on the apprentice, the public might understand where he developed his discriminative views. Mocking Africans just leaves Sugar's arse lickers bewildered.

Sorry - don't understand the question. My post was basically questioning the motivation of the OP....he doesn't normally start a thread without a point, and I was suggesting the point was to stir shit. Are we supposed to reply defending Sugar's 1970s style racism, or attacking him? OP sits back and watches 'snowflakes' defend the indefensible.

He will say he's just having a laugh.

Plenty of actually funny things to have a laugh about.

And he should change his avatar. Bobby Sands, FFS? That's a real laugh. Ho ho ho. IRA terrorist starves himself to death. Ha ha. Manwhile Bushy's army mates are killed by the IRA. Ho ho. Oh, sorry, isn't that part of the joke?

To be fair, anyone using a Bobby Sands mockery as an avatar on a football site needs to get some ****ing help.

pissed again harry ?

Hard right was MUCH more mainstream in the mid and late 70s. There were runours of a police state. 'They are coming over here, going on the dole and taking our jobs'. Common mantra back then, mad though it sounds. Especially in areas and by people who had never seen or spoken to a black person in the flesh. Like in Hove.

it may or not have been like that in the 70s , i tend to find the opposite these days , people in areas like hove whos lives arent reall touched by immigration or dont have much interaction with immigrants tend to expound the wonders of multiculturalism and immigration

Most people haven't a hope in hell of getting a property off the BHCC housing list, even worse when you see the amount of empty properties around the city and the amount of space where you could build. The trouble is the more you build the more rents will drop and vested interests win out all the time

You were talking sense, until the last bit. Complete fantasy, do you comment on the Argus site, with similar bollocks?

It’s simply that BHCC’s planning department is not fit for purpose. Completely incompetent officers, finding every obstacle under the sun to delay developments, allied with councillors playing the vote chasing game in siding with nimbies. I’m not talking about building on downland, but city sites such as knocking down old empty factories which are next to existing housing.

Glad you have found a positive from a negative thread.
Whilst we're having a bit of a laugh at racism it's a shame about your capitalisation, punctuation and spelling. You may fail the stringent tests your lot would like to put before migrants. :lolol::lolol:

Many comments in the past that would not offend anyone would be seen as racist these days and I'm not sure a lot of people know what racism actually is.If you voted brexit you're apparently racist and I like a good chinky on a Saturday night and that makes me racist like most of the country I guess.

How long before "only fools and horses" is band completely ?
Funny enough the big fat whining idiots are white people"mostly young student twats types" as they get more offended than the ones who it's actually targeted at.

I didn't realise Only Fools and Horses had formed a band!

A duo of smug, self righteous BBC Radio5 presenters the other week, commented that they now squirm at the racism in Faulty Towers.

Bloody hell, if they get their way, we'll become the most ridiculously over sensitive nation on earth.

Faulty Towers parodied a (white) English snob. Side stories did not set out to denegrade the sub-race of Catalonians, Germans, Americans, an Irishman, old ladies, Africans. They were amusing asides, with the joke invariably on the lunacy of the snob and his chaotic operation.

The BBC have often cut Major Gowen's lines about the Indians and West Indians playing cricket with Cleese's consent - but purely on the basis of televising it at a family friendly time. I'm pretty sure the intent of the show was to denigrate the type of person who would say such things, but there is no denying the language involved is absolutely and unashamedly racist for that reason. There was nothing faulty about it though.:)

Agreed.
The outrage brigade on NSC love to be thought of as a liberal crowd of right-on Brightonians, unless there is something that could be mildly disagreeable to their way of thinking and then, the righteous harrumphing gets up a head of steam.
Unless, of course, the targets are either toffs or Tories, then its ok!

And Americans.

Back of the net!

You're not far wrong.

Whilst unwilling to type on NSC with fury against anti Semites / Holocaust deniers in the Labour Party.

A strange set of selective morals.

Who has been outraged? It was posted by someone asking for comments. There has been no outrage on NSC, just different points of view. Maybe in the wider media there has been. You're just posting strawman bollocks.

One of the supposed great British traits is tolerance. Where is your tolerance over what was a silly mistake by Sugar for which he has profusely apologised?

Being tolerant and demonstrating actions have consequences are not mutually exclusive.

Should he have his Knighthood taken away? Who cares. Should he be publicly called out on his stupidity/racism? Yes and he has been.

No, just annoyed. I had you blocked for months. But my post was probably unfair. Unfair? I don't know, to be fair. I don't like your avatar. And the thread seemed like fishing. You seem to be cheerful enough, though, and not spitting feathers like you can do. Which is good. And you didn't rise to my pissy provocation. This may come as a surprise, but mostly I worry about you. What you have exprienced, at that age, must have had effects and sometimes the effects seem all too evident (e.g., the rants and the avatars). Sometimes I suspeect you may be unware of this. Stay cheerful. I look forward to a long chat sometime. All the best

I don't spend enough time in Hove to be able to comment on your specific point, although Hove is certainly not as white as it was, so maybe you are spending too much time hanging out with craft bearded anarchist trustafarians if you think Hove has gone all Chumbawumba :rolleyes:

As for multiculturism....not sure what that means. To me it means having access to multi cultures, with the freedom to reject all culture (and watch channel 5) if I want. I think that is something still allowed. To me it does not mean having to fast during ramadan, and not wish muslim colleagues 'happy Christmas' which I do, with no ill effect. My life and interactions are all smooth, PC-free, and uncluttered. And

It's a shame that some people think that if you don't find racism funny, be it casual or more deliberate that you are automatically a "bitty sucking cuck with thin skin and snowflake attributes". A shame? Yes, a shame. Because in a lot of cases posters have a lot in common and could have good discussions about manifold topics.

Instead we get people who don't believe anyone that hasn't lived in a flat with 17 Bengali's next to a detention centre specialising in housing Algerian Paedophile gangs in London for 45 years, somehow hasn't the right experience to say they find some forms of immigration a positive thing.

It's a shame.

OK, nominate someone you feel would be prepared to go on TV, and argue that Alan Sugar has every right to make a racist joke and should not be criticised for doing so. Given that Sir Alan tweeted a racist joke, I would say he has more in common with Jim D than just skin colour.

Kanye West - his tweeted views about blacks being slaves for 400years as a choice was abhorrent, in my opinion. Deeply offensive to many black people who rightly criticised him for such racist remarks.
