What a ruddy saddener. He wouldn't consider it his finest work, but Galaxy Quest is one of those films that when I see it on the telly I will try and watch it each time.

Gutted. Severus Snape and the guy in Love Actually were perfect and two of my favourites.

One of my favourite actors, genuinely can't think of a film I've seen him in that I haven't enjoyed.

It was voted the seventh best Star Trek film, by Trekkies! Well worth watching again. And again.

Indeed, he was truly brilliant in that role. RIP Alan, 69 seems to be the new 27.
