He is stated as a midfielder, in the same way as this Chelsea boy, we do not need these players.

He is a no.10. He plays behind the striker. Exactly the type of player we don't have and tried to get in the summer. The type of player that would have helped when we struggled most the game at Fulham. It's no coincidence we are being linked with THIS type of player.

28 years old, 5 foot 6 1/2 and 9 months out after a double leg fracture. Only one decent season in the top two divisions, only 1 cap for Ireland.

Great signing if you're a Norwich or Villa and you've got £5 mill to spare to help get you out of the Championship but I think we need to be looking at attackers with the ability to play in the Prem. Whilst our three strikers are all decent in the Championship it's a worry that they might all find the Prem a bridge too far.

He would cost about £650k.

He's class. Always been a big fan of him. Would be an excellent addition to the squad whether we go up or not so for that reason I'm IN.

No chance. He was reportedly the subject of £8mil-£10mil+ bids last year / August - yes I appreciate the contract thing and the injury but you're looking at £4mil for him minimum I'd say... He was very hot property last season remember.

Will have to get around fat Frank, if coming!

I know it is probably only a ruse, but Frank is hardly fat, probably in better shape than most on here I expect, but he is getting on a bit.
Can't really see anyone making a serious bid to be honest.
He will probably be calling it a day, can't see how he can dictate a massive wage at his age and has done well to stay the course.
He should more likely be exploring the management side of the game.

Judge is a quality player and is Premiership quality. He has put in a hard graft over the years and has gone very much under the radar until recently. And don't be fooled by his single Irish cap - the Irsh team has predominantly been based on a defensive midfield pairing with little inventiveness (he wouldn't and didn't get near the squad with Trappatoni) - and when O'Neill has used a no.10 it has been Hoolahan. Hughton knows Judge well from his time coaching with the Irish team.

This is all very well, but is Judge the sort of guy that would go shopping in his PJ's ???

Hmmm... WAS a great player, but how can we assess whether he is going to get back to his best?

Started as more of a winger didn't he? Seem to remember him playing wide earlier in his career (Notts County maybe?). Good player though and has done some hard yards to get to the Championship. Don't think he'd step up to PL...

All this talk of possible signings 'not stepping up to the PL' is a little annoying. We're nowhere near there yet, acknowledge we're in a great position at the moment, but anyone who has supported this club that we all love for any length of time will know there is always a hic-cup waiting around the corner. CH and his scouting team are better qualified than any of us mere mortals to judge a player's potential, leave it to him !!!

Not the kind of player that we could often sign whilst playing in this league. Big risk but could be incredible. Agree that sadly will cost about 4 million plus, as 23 teams in this league would gamble on him at 2 - 2.5M given the chance even with 6 months remaining

The bookies have us as 1/10 for promotion and if you work so hard to get there you want to have a fighting chance of staying there. You can't do that with a squad full of players who are decent in the Championship but can't hack it in the Prem. IMHO Judge is one of those players.

Moreover, having that squad doesn't necessarily mean that if you DO go down after 1 season you'll bounce back up again - just look at how Norwich are faring in 2016/17.

At least with someone like Loftus-Cheek he'll give you quality and help you get promoted, and then when he returns to Chelsea you're free to bring someone in from a position of strength as a Prem club.

For those worried about him because of his age and his injury, Beram was only a year or so younger and had a terrible injury too. Sign him up if he's available and we can afford him.
