I saw him YEARS ago when he first started out. It was brilliant. The Guardian reading Camden audience weren't quite sure whether to laugh or not - then suddenly realised it was a quite a brilliant parody of Little England whilst at the same time challenging their own xenophobia.

Unfortunately he appears now to appeal (and cashed in) with people who actually agree with the character. I met a bloke who was amazed such an un PC comedian was allowed on TV and loved him.

I suspect his involvement in the campaign was a bit of a reaction to above. I found it highly patronising. If he felt so strongly about UKIP stand as a independent out of character. I've lost all respect for him.
