Why he has no legal right to be here. Would you say the same if he drove a bus for a living instead of playing football.

He's a young professional footballer from a country which is in a dire state and he was brought here in some sort of male prostitution scandal. He has the talent to be a top player, might not ever be one but say if it was an Albion player then we would all be behind him.

he's been here since he was 15, when he left sierra leone to escape persecution because he refused to become involved in a cult which murdered his father.

he pays taxes - probably more than most of us in fact - and has a family including a newborn baby.

but yeah, send the fucker back!

Genuine asylum seekers should be made to feel welcome. He is a young man in a decent profession, paying tax as he should do. I would far rather have someone like this in our country than the hoardes of terminal jobless who are not interested in contributing to society.

The petition says 'In November 2007, he is appealing against deportation'

Has this already happened and what was the outcome?

Maybe he should try to get a job as a security guard. The Immigration Authorities in this country are a sick joke and frankly they should all be replaced by people with a higher IQ than 25.

I can't believe some people's attitudes towards this. Lets just be thankful that other clubs' fans were more supportive of us when we needed them.

You can't make exceptions just because he has a high profile, if he is here illegally then I expect him to be made to leave.
I would think there are many things we haven't heard about this case and Watford are only saying what they want people to know.

Well put sir. ???

Asylum applications should be settled on the merits of the case.

Is his life under threat? Yes.

Cases like this have to take account of exceptional circumstances.

How do you know ? I'm sure given the lax immigration policies and the lax repatriation policies this government has that they think there is no threat to him.
I think there is a lot more to this case than the simple 'facts' we have been presented with by Watford.
