This game was always going to be the most attractive fixture for a few reasons. I’m sure the club recognized that Tier 1 uptake would be high and created tier 2 accordingly.

I have no idea how many are in T2 but assuming a thousand then it’s a 1 in 3 chance of getting a ticket which doesn’t seem too bad? All things considered I feel the club have done this as well as they could.
Agreed. Whatever they do will be wrong for someone. Loyalty points work very badly as a concept for my personal situation as it’s pretty much impossible to get to away games on top of all the home matches but it is what it is.

Not so sure. Normally, the bands are calculated against everyone eligible, so T1 at a 3k ground ends at the points of the 3000th highest STH.

Here we’re only forming groups out of those who register interest so a sub set of the whole fanbase. 265 is a similar cut off for T1 to Everton yet for only 2300 tickets instead of 3000.

I’m with Dazzer - unless you know who registered, and their points, you simply don’t know the band size.

For T2 get on asap on Monday, logging on with more than one device if you can and pick quickly and decisively. I did that for Fulham and Palace last season and got tickets for both in a T2 bunfight. Ironically that helped me into the top this season.

So assume there are for league games as well (given points values are basically the same), but interesting how many games get a large % of tickets sold to T1, yet often sell few in the T2 window.…….I guess we’ve got a fairly hardcore away following of a couple of thousand or so now, with the rest ‘occasionals’

Thinking about it, you must be right on numbers, as anyone with a ST for 10 years who has done a few home cup matches or the odd away game will be on 220, but a large no. of STHs simply never go away.

My lad (season ticket every season since 2008/09) has 222, and I can’t even recall the last away game we went to - bar the FA Cup semi final.

The club essentially had two options...

- Have very narrow points bands after Tier 1 which would mean very few fans would have a chance of getting a ticket.
- Have a broad Tier 2 which would mean a lot of fans have a chance of getting a ticket.

I suspect whether you feel the club has made the right choice or not is probably quite closely aligned to your own points level.

260 points - the club have got it wrong.
220 points - the club have got it right.

(I've got 250 and think they've got it right)

If those in T2 know someone in T1, can the T1’s reserve a pre-arranged seat before the window opens so when the window does open the T2’s know exactly what seat to go for to avoid the scramble and whilst on the phone the T1’s empty their basket and the T2’s are waiting there to put the choosen seats straight in their basket and sail through customs. Easy.

That shouldn't be possible any more.

It used to be the case that a Tier 1 could put tickets in their basket ahead of Tier 2 opening. Then, when Tier 2 opened, they'd merely allocate those "reserved" ticket to their Tier 2 F&F and complete the purchase.

I think the club became aware of this, and now manually flush the system ahead of each new tier opening, thereby meaning everyone has an equal chance.

To do that the T2 has to have reached the front of the queue anyway - until they’re in the site they can’t do anything. Better for them to get their T1 pal to log in and book the ticket for them

While not a scam, I booked an apartment for Marseille just under two weeks ago via booking.com

I got an email through yesterday (all in French) from the private host who said they've implememted a mandatory 15 euro cleaning fee, not included in the total cost of the reservation.

It's payable in cash to the person who comes to collect the keys on day of departure.

There was no mention of any additional cost at time of booking. Seems a bit wrong to throw this in now. Can't see how they can enforce any such payment

If you click on a seat and proceed without a warning that the seat is no longer available then it's yours. Problem I've had is when others select same seats prior to proceeding to allocation/payment. It highlights in red that the seat is not available, very irritating!
