Was at Marseille when a young guy did it and rather than apologising denied it. He was with his dad and they were both absolutely battered. The bloke in front wasn’t happy and they grappled each other. The young lad thought it was all a big laugh.

All for fun at games but far too many boozed up idiots at away games these days that have watched Green Street and ID one to many times

I would be mighty p d off if beer had hit me but do feel club are again over the top. No excuse but some of these had been drinking for over a day. What is wrong with a token one game ban and warning about future conduct. But there again I am one who thinks a 10 game ban for somebody falling ill and giving ticket away is ridiculous.

It's a token and not a deterrent.

I'm sure that the club, want to maintain a good reputation within Europe, to ensure that the maximum ticket allocation is available to the club and to our fans, and to avoid financial penalties.

The club wouldn't be pleased if we reach the latter stages of the knock out rounds and have to play a game without any of our fans present to support the team, due to the actions of some idiots.

I seem to be an outlier here but I attended with three other recovering alcoholics and we didn't care. Drunken exuberance at one of the Albions greatest ever games. 5 game ban seems ridiculous.

TBH nobody else cared until this news came out some 6 days later.

I'd imagine we all put it down to drunken exuberance and 'tw@ts gonna tw@t', until the club said 'you don't have to put up with anti social behaviour, just because you're at a football match'.

A position which seems to have struck a chord.

Funnily enough one guy a few rows in front said that to the sons dad but it appeared to go in one ear and out the other.

I've never had the urge to luzz a beer - maybe a Carling - but I get why 20 year olds do. It's been shown on the news and social medi as "Isn't this great" when England put the 5th past Panama instead of the bellendery it actually is. As others have mentioned, even the official twitter account celebrated the stupidity.

There are few things in life better than the feeling of scoring a goal in an important match. I'd be proper pissed if that was ruined by being covered in beer. 5 game ban about bang on. What would be even better if the next world cup didn't have Journos hanging around box park filming and celebrating it at the next Euros.

My girlfriend got soaked after the first goal and her hoodie was drenched through with beer for the rest of the trip so had to go without it for the rest of the trip, having only packed hand luggage. A bit of beer spraying upwards when you celebrate is normal but chucking a nearly full cup away from you onto your own fans or the Ajax fans who we have no real rivalry with is out of order.

Celebrate goals like you celebrate them in England. You don’t just sit there and clap politely in this country. Why the need to behave so unpleasantly in other countries? It’s arrogance and borderline racism. "It’s a foreign country, we can do whatever we want." That’s the attitude.

No it wouldn't. Immediate ban for this behaviour, it's anti-social and unnacceptable. Zero tolerance. Why should you ruin someone else's experience with no negative consequences? The people who luzzed the beers around are no loss to anything and frankly, I imagine these losers were already hammered before staggering their way toward the ground.
