I totally accept the hype around Joshua has been a bit silly, but he's not as bad, and Wilder isn't as good as you're suggesting.

I actually think there are similarities between them. Both big on power, but by historical standards, there are far better boxers. I'd say they are at a similar level, but I'd fancy Joshua .... just. Not holding my breath for it though and AJ has a toughie to get through first.

Wilder is regarded by many pundits in the sport as the most lethal knockout merchant in boxing history. He is actually a terrible boxer but will knock AJ and his dodgy chin out 100%

Laughable. Ruiz should really have won a world title earlier when he lost on points to Joseph Parker in what was a very controversial decision. The guy is a serious boxing talent and you'd struggle to find many people in the sport who wouldn't agree hes a much better technical boxer than AJ.

We'll have a much clearer idea about that, at about 9.30 on Saturday night. Personally i think Joshua will show his class. But we'll see

I think AJ has a bit of the amir khan in him, in that he can't avoid a tear up. If he gets drawn into one he is playing right into Ruiz's hands. He has a big height and reach advantage, he should utilise his natural physical advantages and keep out of range. Move the fat bloke around and tire him out. Then pick him off like he did in the 3rd last time out. Problem is I think he fancies himself as a 70's styled banger and just wants to get his opponent's out of there. I think mccracken tries to get him to fight more like the Povetkin victory, but AJ doesn't take it onboard. Hopefully he does this time.

He can still engage and tear up but he needs to do the basics like move his head. He's pretty basic

From what’s been said in the press and AJ has said himself, he sounds like he is going into this a lot smarter than the first fight but at the same time, all the tactics and pre fight sparring and talk mean nothing if his mentality isn’t up to it when he steps into the ring with a guy who knocked his head off last time. We shall see.

Son is on his firms Christmas dinner at a casino in Brighton and he says it is being shown around 10.30 there live.. Saudi is 3 hours ahead of London , GMT , so would be about 1.30am start which seems a little late.

I think partly AJ opened up too much because he was trying to conquer America and wanted to make a statement

He forgot how he got to be champ in the first place, it wasn't by blasting decent fighters away in the opening rounds.

Joshua could do well to ask himself, "how would Floyd Mayweather handler this?" Keep distance, control the fight, use the jab and whatever you do, don't leave yourself vulnerable to the counter attack by trying to get the quick win. Take back the belts on points and ignore the criticism.

I've got to say, Ruiz looks to me to have a decent chin and I'm not sure body shots will work against him. The temple is the shot to find

The fat guy has a lot better cardiovascular conditioning then Joshua. The sheer bulk of Joshua has seen him gas many times before. The longer it goes the better for Ruiz.

Agreed.

Bottom line for me is that AJ's heart is not in it 100%. At times it looks like he is having an out of body experience and wishes he was on the sofa playing his Xbox.

Really? Boxing is very skillful and I love it. MMA resembles a Saturday night pub car park brawl. Wrestle your opponent to the ground then keep punching them in the head. Where's the skill in that?

I’m really in two minds about this. I really want to watch this fight, and I’ve happily paid £20 on PPV to watch fights previously. It’s only an extra fiver, and it’s a fiver I’m hardly going to miss. But on principle, £25 to watch a maximum 36 minute event in my own living room just seems scandalous.

I’ll probably end up shelling out, but still...

A few places in Brighton are showing it for nothing mate, head out and have a few beers and watch it, like you I pay for PPV fights normally but at £25 and in Saudi I’m making a stand on this one and not shelling out.
