Well he was thoroughly out of order, and his behaviour really can't be condoned. That said, considering her near adult age and the temptation he may have felt, her apparent good looks etc, I am somewhat taken aback at the severity of his sentence.
There are first rate a...holes out there that con, steal and attack people that get more lenient sentences than that. I could barely justify a six year term if he'd been a Palarse.

I think it covers anything beyond a kiss up to, but not including, penetrative intercourse.

From the other thread, there are various different types of 'sexual activity' listed. It does include intercourse.

Grooming
Starting points: 2 years custody if the victim is 13 or over but under 16
Sentencing ranges: 1 - 4 years custody

Sexual activity with a child
It depends on the activity. There seems to be a general belief, and the latest article link seems to concur that this was kissing. This would come under "Contact between part of offender's body (other than the genitalia) with part of the victim's body (other than the genitalia)"

my understanding is she recorded on her phone her performing oral so her friends would believe her. I've also seen pictures which is supposedly her and to be fair she looks older than her years if correct.

As mentioned on the other thread, a month before a man was also sentenced to 6 years for raping a 14 year old girl.

There were over 800 messages while he groomed her, which led to sexual activity with a minor, and plans being made to go further next time.

But it wasn't just that was it? That on its own is not Sexual Activity with a child. That on its own is not grooming. You can take a fraction of the story behind almost any crime and make the sentence seem disproportionate. It's like saying Baby P got a bit of chocolate on him, does that deserve a minimum of five years in prison?

Because a grown adult should be able to turn down a child's advances, not encourage or act on them.

She could have been tapdancing nude on his bonnet, sending him whatsapp messages the whole time telling him wonderful he was and he still should be able to keep control of himself. What with her being a child and him being nearly 30.
