This is a quote off the Swindon BBC 606 page, the first line is the key one which i could not stop laughing at.....

"I think that our strong squad is the envy of most other clubs in our league, but I dont understand why we are not winning any games so far this season.
Are we in danger of relegation ? - Absolutely no chance, because we have far too many good players.
Will we eventually get into the Play-Offs ?"

They have a good striker and a good keeper, if that constitutes a squad then they're spot on!

Lost Paynter and Greer, two key players, and also that Danny Ward who was on loan and looked a cracking player so cant see them finishing this season as well as they did last.
But to write them off after just 5 games is a bit silly, I know thats not why the thread was started, and im finding it funny too, but lets wait until nearer the end of the season.
Reminds me of last season when the Southend fans started that thread :lolol:

Your right of course, far too early to have any idea of how the season will pan out for any team yet, but it is just cheek of thinking Swindon are the envy of most of league one, what planet is he/she on.

High up on the South Downs.
TBH have we played any team better than Swindon this season?

Yes Sheff Wed beat us but they got a lot of help from the ref who allowed one of the home players to stay on the pitch after he launched an airborne two footed tackle.

Playing devils' advocate here, but thought Swindon were well worth their play off place last season and they beat Leeds comfortably twice.

I think they had a good run of form, and once you're on a roll, things can easily snowball. But I didn't think they were anything special and I also suspected they'd over achieved. When you take out Austin and Paynter (admittedly a fearsome partnership), there didn't appear to be a lot else there. No way will they go down though, they're an easy upper mid to mid table side.

Swindon are one of the sides I want to see doing well - they play good football and have an excellent manager. Can't understand why this board seems to be full of anti-Swindoners. There are plenty of teams out there who are far more worthy of our contempt (Southampton, Colchester (pub football), MK Dons (obviously), Orient (except for the Salad love-in), Yeovil (dirty bastards!), etc - I'm sure you can add your own!

I am not anti Swindon but laugh at fans who at this stage of the season start proclaiming success. It's far too early to be that confident.
I hope we finish in the top 6 at least but I am nowhere near as confident as Mendoza et al on another thread who think if the results had gone right we would be top of the table. That's the problem, results do not always go the way you think they should.
