Absolute nonsense. The previous democrat administration was hell bent on provoking a war with Russia. Starting with interfering in Ukrainian Politics leading to the coup in 2014 which then led to the new far-right regime treating the ethnic Russians living in Donetsk and Luhansk like sub humans which in turn led to the civil war. Had Clinton won there was no doubt in my mind that war in some form with Russia was inevitable such was the rhetoric, she didn't win and all that nonsense stopped. It took Biden just over a year to provoke Putin into invading, by baiting him with the threat of having a NATO member on his borders and bang the Democrats got their proxy war. The same shit happened in Syria, the same administration in an attempt to over throw Assad funded the Al Nusra Front which morphed into Isis. During his 4 years in office other than clean up the mess caused by creating Isis, and sending a few missiles into Syria as a warning against further attacks on their own civilians, trump took no part in warfare. Regarding Russia so pissed were they at the de-escalation the Democrats threw everything at Trump trying to prove he was a patsy of Putins, they couldn't find a bloody thing. He is not bending over to Putin he is an isolationist and does not want to waste resources and people in starting wars..
The blame for Russia invading Ukraine lies with Russia - and Putin.

Not sure where to start with this.

Think I’ll bin it.

You’re kind of spilling over into a spiral of disconnected theories. You think Clinton and NATO wanted to provoke war with Russia rather than former Soviet countries maybe wanting to do something of their own free will.

Last I saw, Zelensky was democratically elected by Ukrainians.

I think you are seeking to bash western governments unnecessarily here.

It was Trump’s campaign Manager for the 2016 election, Paul Manafort, and Trump’s Lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, that were undermining Ukrainian independence by working closely with Russian oligarchs and pro-Russia politicians in Ukraine as far back as 2004.

In 2014, Ukrainians rose up against the pro-Russian party, the Party of Regions that was in power in Ukraine, a party Manafort helped to elect and disposed the pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych. In the power vacuum that followed, Russia invaded and annexed the Crimea.

It was Trump who dismissed the US Ambassador to Ukraine for whistleblowing on Russian corruption in Ukraine and Trump himself in a personal call to Zelenskyy who threatened a withdrawal of American arms if Zelenskky didn’t cooperate by proving dirt on Hunter Biden (who was working on the board of Energy in Ukraine) in the run up to the 2020 election.

As for Syria, the US has in the past specifically opposed toppling Assad. It was Israel that precipitated Assad’s fall by degrading Hezbollah and weakening Iran’s influence but it was likely an unintended consequence of the combination of the widening of the war in Gaza and Russia taking its eye off the ball being pre-occupied with Ukraine. Assad financed Isis to ensure they would suppress the Kurds and other rebel forces in Syria, in much the same way Netanyahu financed Hamas for years to oppose the pro-Western Palestinian Authority who wanted a two State solution to the Palestinian Question, something Netanyahu has always been against.

Facts can be used in confirmation bias whatever one’s political world view and the same facts can produce different conclusions but facts are still facts.

I agree Trump is an isolationist and doesn’t want to waste resources on wars but he is also an appeaser of strong dictators which in itself can lead to conflict and civil wars when oppressed populations rise up and leave power vacuums - in Africa and the ME, that can lead to regional conflicts and proxy wars as we have frequently seen over the decades.

This is great news but I just hope that we don't end up meeting a large part of the bill for rebuilding Gaza.

Yes Trump ordering the most drone strikes in history, assassinating a foreign official and holding talks with the Taliban which led to them retaking control over Afghanistan, what a bastion of peace!

You're also just parroting Russian propaganda that it was Ukraine and NATO who caused the war, it was solely Russia and Putin who caused the war.

If this country was governed as strongly as Israel, we wouldn't be in the absolute mess that we are at present. As a nation we allow ourselves to be pushed around far too much. Will you be looking to the Iranians and other Hamas loving states to share the bill for rebuilding Gaza too, after all they did arm the terrorists? I doubt it very much.

120 Palestinians killed by Israel since the announcement of a ceasefire on Wednesday.

Israel continues to bomb Gaza and Netenyahu speaks of reserving the right to resume the war.

Ceasefire now delayed, with Hamas failing to give the names of the 3 hostages to be released later today, saying technical and field issues.

Eight people have been killed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza in the first hour that the ceasefire was supposed to be in effect.

Hmmm .... let me see. We'd be better of having a PM charged with corruption, a government intent on removing the independence of the judciary and an armed forces committing war crimes ?? I'm prepared to stick with what we've got thank you.

Great news no doubt, I have no idea where you'd even begin to start rebuilding. Fingers crossed this peace holds for good.
There is no doubt that the Palestinian groups will start where they always start, by prioritising the building of tunnels leading to the border... all paid for by the UN and so called 'humanitarian' charities, why do you think it will be any different?
