You pay peanuts you get monkeys . Always use a high quality independent estate agent . People think they can save a few quid with these online firms but end up losing money either because they pay a fee and it doesn’t sell or the price they get it less than they would have got had they used a decent agent with a big database of registered buyers . In my experience avoid the big chain agents ie fox and sons , cubit and west , king and chasemore etc , for 2 main reasons , firstly they are more interested in selling mortgages as that is their main money earner and secondly they usually have a lot of inexperienced staff because they don’t pay well .

Took a chance on an online agent on the last sale, they were sending me people who weren’t even aware of the area and I was having to explain links to the M23, how long to Gatwick, London, Brighton etc.
Quite poor. Sacked them within two weeks and tangled over the cancel fee, which they agreed to wave after I suggested I’d go into great detail about their shortcomings online.

Appointed Mansell McTaggart who Id used before and the first viewer (lived in the area) paid asking price, was even lucky enough it was an investor so rented post completion whilst new house was being built.

Sure I paid more 0.75% (negotiated down after the claim of an easy sell with 1% if they got me >10% asking price) than the £1,500 all in online but it’s true you don’t muck about with these things

What annoys me is that it shouldn't be the clubs paying these agents fees - rather it should be the player. The player has decided to use an agent so the player is the client .... not the club. To continue the estate agent comparison - the seller pays the agent fees not the buyer.

It is unavoidable that Clubs pay Agents Fees.

You have to remember that a lot of the Agents Fees are for the negotiations of renewing contracts. So when negotiations on the renewal are in play . One of the things either clubs agree to or the players ask for as part of their " Remuneration Package " is for their Agents Fees to be met by the Club
And the same happens when players agree to move from one Club to another.

So they are really unavoidable because if the Club doesn't agree to settle a players Agents Fees they could lose out on that player because they often have the option of a few Clubs and if they don't agree to pay the Agents Fees on behalf of the player, then another Club surely will in an attempt to sign that player ahead of you.

A lot of money but at least its done in the right way in England, regulated and nice. In the rest of Europe its really the wild west with a lot of black money and other kinds of shady stuff.

I thought this was going to be a post about Alex Pritchard.

Out of date Rethoric.

And I know it wasn't intended Swansman so not really chastising you for it's use.

HMRC used to use a similar terminology. It used to be called the " Black Economy Group " and that was the group which used to investigate non declared income. They are now known as " Non Compliance Investigation Sections "

" Black Economy Group " in the UK stems from a period where many employers in the UK due to Racial Prejudice would not legally employ Black, Irish and Scottish workers. This then forced them t work illegally where they were often exploited by unscrupulous Employers paying them lower wages and having them work under poor working conditions where no tax was paid.

I used to be an Inspector in the " Black Economy Group at HMRC. And it was apparent that there were actually more white English men and women avoiding paying tax willfully than there were Blacks,Irish or Scottish forced into the non tax paying workforce in the UK. Hence HMRC changed tact on who they targeted for non compliance of tax payment.

Thanks for the little history lesson, I find tidbits like that fascinating.
