I am 100% confident. Lewes' ridiculous challenges cannot go on forever - they just can't, no matter how people feel abou today's news.

Doesn't stop me feeling 100% pissed off with these self-serving, self-important bastards though.

I think you are all missing the point, this article is all about club spin.

What the article says is that we have had to put Falmer back another year, at a cost of £50k per week to the club. So what this highlights is that if LDC are serious about going ahead with the judicial review and lose, then the are not only liable to pay legal costs, but they could also have to pay compensation to the club to the tune of £2.5m.

I think the club have been very clever getting this published, it's done to make LDC think again.

I don't doubt the fact that permission will be given after the LDC appeal is rejected.... i however worry about the financial burden our club is facing as the fuckwits at LDC try and murder our great club

Whatever, but I am fed up having to put up with rainwater dripping down the back of my neck, crap catering facilites, no convenient bar, no pay-on-the-day etc etc, when other supporters up & down the country, regardless of whatever sport they follow, take these things for granted.

It's not just the club that are suffering, it's real people as well.

I dont think you can as they are contesting a legal point.

I also think that this will be viewed as consequential loss and quantifying this would be impossible.

Where's Lord B and ROSM when you need them?

If a stadium is not built there you can be sure Brighton council will make sure something else more unpleasant is just to piss the Falmer and LDC people off big time. Like a nice big 24hour Tesco, waste incinerator, Sewage works, Nuclear power plant........

I don't think that's the point the club are making. Yes, there's spin here, but it's also keeping us appraised of the situation in case people think the case has gone cold. There is never any way that the club can think it can claim on lost earnings, just pointing out how destructive Lewes' narrow-minded arrogance and stupidity can be - and is.

If anything, they are probably pissing themselves laughing that there is a public acknowledgement that their plans for the club's demise are working.

Lewes will probably issue a statement refuting the club's claims, and blaming the government for the delay, and using the tired old 'two inspectors rejected it...' half-truth. But then, they f***ing would.

It will get built, more of a worry is that with this further delay this club is even less attractive in terms of attracting players. Footballers careers are short so why would someone like McShane be interested in another three years of battling for survival followed by another couple of years of treading water after the stadium is built. By the time this is over this club will have spent 13+ years in the wilderness, completely handicapped and continually losing any chance of signing players to clubs like Reading.....and just about any other club in the top three divisions.

And people say how terrible Leeds Utd have had it for the last COUPLE of years :nono:

I thought it was fairly obvious that the Lewes appeal would delay us?

But I am 100 per cent confident they will be beaten, nothing changes whatsoever, the government has made its decision and if some clever lawyers find some loopholes or factual errors in the ODPM decision (I think we know already there are some), then the ODPM will just tidy it up even if the judge rules they are particularly pertinent, which is unlikely.
