Derby were gash from January onwards, if we continue the way we are, we will be there or about at the end of the season.

Lots of well matched sides plahying a similar game this season, plus a few mad nightmares (Brizzltitty). I was thinking, just before our first goal, what an interesting measured way we play. Then that lovely goal. I'm enjoying this. And we are top of the league. :bhasign:

Unlike me to be pedantic I know, but if we continue the way we are, we'll win the league, with 97 points.

Watford and Cardiff were already going backwards by this stage: took 4 points and 6 points from 4 games in Nov respectively compared to Albion's 8. Derby took 9 but as pointed out above bombed near end of season.

The history is fine as far as it goes but this season is unique in having 5 teams with 34+ points at this stage. Not inconceivable that top 5 teams will be known by 40 games. Could be an amazing run in.

38 from 18 not that special then? 43 or 44 - wow! Now, that would be something!

The only question mark for me is our inability to secure any sort of comfortable win.
Hopefully Wilson will make a difference.
We will know more after Derby/QPR/Boro'

My reaction too, we haven't done as well as I thought. To have 43-44 points after 18 is amazing

Perhaps I should also make it clear, before some amoeba-brained numpty comes on here to call me a doom-monger, moaner or bed-wetter, that I am absolutely delighted at this stage of the season to have 38 points and be top of the league!

Goes without saying but 43-44 points is even more impressive when you consider how competitive this league is every season.

Didn't Peterbborough go down with something crazy like 54 3 seasons ago?

Yes, they were very unlucky. were 2-2 at Palace end 12/13 with a minute to go before a late winner consigned them to League One; didn't even make any difference to Palace - they would have been 5th with one point. Few days later we had crapgate and Poyetgate....

10 points clear of 7th is what we need to look at

Nope don't agree! We are the best team in this division even with a growing injury list this is ours for the taking Hughton has the formula to get us up automatically.

It could be a trivia quiz quaetion in years to come: when was the only occasion when the top team and the bottom team in Championship were the only two not to have won at least one match by more than a goal?
