Looking at those stats for 2018-2019, you can wonder how or why it all went wrong for Chris Hughton - at that point it looked as if we were settling into the PL quite nicely.

Did you not attend the second half of that season, we were relatively safe by Jan/Feb, then something went dramatically wrong, team all downed tools and we only managed one home win in the second half.

Ashworth arrived around this time, just saying like.

that season we were battered in 3 games on the trot but won them 1-0

this season we battered man U and we lost, we have played well and have had a lot of possession in other games but lost either by not taking our chances or not defending set pieces...

We should be able to improve the set pieces nonsense , finding a goal scorer is going to be much harder but to be fair we are still scoring more goals than we did under CH.

Im sure a lot of those now dead convinced of the team going down and "progressing backwards" at this point of that season were dead convinced that the team was going to end up mid-table and progress into being the new.. I dunno, Burnley.

In the end it turned out that a PL season is 38 games and not 13, 14 or 15, and hopefully (but the other way around) it will turn out to be the same again this season. Plenty do not believe it but there is a decent chance that the team could do the best second half of any of BHAFC PL seasons.

Looking at wins and points is just anti Potter. We need to see the real league table which is possession stats and learning capacity.

League position should be based on how much we learned.

Is it anti Potter though? Im all for giving Potter a fair crack and believe Bloom will back him if we get relegated but our league position will ultimately determine what League we will play in. Sometimes a manager needs a plan B to get points and i am not sure even with Potters constant tinkering we have one. Its a long term vision and although the seeds have been sown for more attacking possession football we fail in the final third are prone to defending lapses and we use players in unfamiliar positions. Bottom line is we have less points than previous seasons so have we made progress? The Answer is no as shown by Bozza's OP
