Just wondering in January which players we are likely to lose to these 2 competitions in January?

I'm assuming : Adingra, Mitoma, Baleba, & possibly Estupinan?

Any others?

Why would an injured South American be playing at the AFCON or Asian Cup?

Lamptey could be in contention for Ghana if he's fit.

We could also lose Buonanotte to the Olympic Games qualifiers at the same time (but we are not obliged to release him)

My bad. Getting my nationalities mixed up.

Just hoping the squad is fitter and we have more players back by then.

Will be a huge lack of wingers, with March out for the season.

Fati potentially? Buonanotte? Who else?

Thank bollocks for Enciso.

Mazilu is it? He's definitely back in Jan?
He’s officially signing in January as confirmed by the club back in July. He’s wasn’t 18 until after summer window closed so although we could agree the deal with him he can’t join up with the squad until January.

What the plans for him once he’s joined up remain to be seen.

Wingers will be a problem

Recalling Sarmiento is an option that will surely be at least considered

I wonder also if we'll see Gross take up the sort of positions he took for the Pedro goal at the weekend more often, maybe bringing Dahoud, Moder or Gilmour into the deeper lying midfield roles.

I don't think we can assume that Enciso will be back to 100% by AFCON and I don't think Fati will be a game in game out type player like Adingra.

I wouldn't bet heavily against RDZ using Milner as part of the solution to the lack of numbers out wide. I'm certain we'll see a lot of Buonanotte and I'd be surprised if Baker Boaitey gets no PL minutes this season. I would imagine Mazilu will be put on a pathway elsewhere, but who knows

But yes, I understand none of this is currently striking terror into the hearts of PL full backs

Has any website done a list of how each PL squad is affected?

If players get to quarters or beyond, we could be without them for Palace at home...

Games impacted:

Wolves (H)
Luton (A)
Palace (H)
Spurs (A)

Could be worse, in fairness.

These are the numbers of players likely to be on AFCON and Asian Cup duties by team.

Both Newcastle and Man City have zero.

So we are 15 mins away for getting a player back for Palace, would be nice

Wonder how fit he is post injury - hardly played - I’d imagine the bench for palace…

And it's not like the lad would need a rest as he's not played. A squad place is likely for the weekend.... Should Senegal hold on

Also worth saying he's playing on the left, his stated preferred position, where he's barely featured for us.

That has to be a pen

And that was refereeing of staggering ineptitude. Ivory coast penalty
